i look at it like this.. relationships are all about getting to know the female you're with... learning her ways, her priorities, how responsible she is, how much she holds her self accountable for things...how independent she is... all types of shit..

now while women can fake a lotta that shit in most relationships, cuz a lotta times niggaz too caught up with the sex to notice..they can't fake that shit with their kids...

you watch how a woman raises her kids, you really see who she is... how she interacts with the child's father, his family, her family...how much personal time she gives the kid, the kids apperance, how well they do in school, the child's personality...

more times than not...you can tell the exact qualitiy of the chick you're dealing with by how good of a kid she has...

if she has a snot nosed, smart mouthed, spoiled ass, dirty ass, sassy, busted ass, bad ass, good for nothign kid...ditch the chick...

but if her child is well mannered and polite, respectful to elders, great in school, displays good social skills, and all around the kinda kid you don't mind being around...then you now you're dealing with a quality female....

that's the biggest plus to dealng with a female with a kid, you really get to see who she really is....

thought i'd give a different perspective on the topic. i'm a step-mom to my husbands 12 yr old son. i've been with his dad since he was 5 or so. i think i'm okay with it because of the type of person i am. even be4 i met my husband, i used to volunteer a lot with children, and i pretty much helped my parents raise my younger siblings. i love kids and feel no type of conflict giving love and time to a child just because they aren't my blood

i love his son like he was my own. his mother isn't a very active part of his life, and i don't mind being there for him as best i can to make that easier on him. i never try to be his mom or discipline him. i'm just there for him when he needs me. i give him a sympathetic ear, help him with school, and i see that as no different than the countless kids i've tutored through the years.

i love my husband so much so it's only natural that i love his child. we're not a traditional family, but we are a family, we love each other and it works for us. i don't put limits on my love like that. and also, when we have kids, he will be their brother.
