you can have the same weight in a little form.
that shape make it way tougher. the grip also.
the thing with the kettlebell is that you got to deal with the weight which is enhanced by gravity.
by example i can curl 27 kg dumbell but i cant curl the 24 kg kettlebell. why? cause the shape of the kettlebell transfer the weight from my wrist to the biceps passing by the forearm. if the first two are weak then i wont curl it.
kettlebells make you sure that your muscular groups grow along. that can be underwelhming and even discouraging in the begining but the benefits in terms of strengh and functionnal dynamism are great.
that cannot replace bodybuilding, THIS IS NOT BODYBUILDING. its just another fitness route.
nevertheless, in comparisions with going to the gym for fitness and using tons of ASSISTED WEIGHTS, and paying annual subscriptions, i rather stay at home saving money and having the same results if not better overall form.

aren't you in the military? bases have a few gyms and most civilian gyms give military a very generous discount
