After listening to the album again. Album is trash. Beats don't match content and it's full of fillers. Like 5 hot tracks out of 20. Smh.

What songs do u think are wack? theres only about 3 or 4 songs I don't fuck with on encore. Even joints like "first single" is shittin on almost every track on mmlp2.

Em should've done a lot better picking beats and writing hooks. I appreciate the old school hip hop samples and kinda dig the rock vibe on some joints, especially on So Far. But aside from that (which Rick Rubin mostly like contributed), MMLP2 was textbook mediocre musically. The fuck was it with those generic hooks on Legacy and Bad Guy? And there's like 8 more just like it... some bland shit about love or heartbreak or whatever. And fuck the beat for Monster. In the face. Those problems hinder the album like a mufucka.
But this nigga Em... son. What the fuck. Is he back on drugs? I don't care what anyone says... son went stupid. I lost hope in him making anything even remotely dope after Recovery, but shit. Even the corny punchlines were good (the Helen Keller line was funny to me). Call it stanning or whatever, but fuck it. Em was rhyming his ass off, and in more ways than one. He took the best of all his styles and crammed it into one album. Even the references of his old shit was crazy. As an underground Em fan, the "chauvinist pig, drove a pink Lincoln over the bridge" flip in Bad Guy floored me (reference to an old freestyle). And fuck niggas hating on Love Game... that shit is genius. At least he didn't call out her name "hip hop" this time.
All in all, I'm not saying Em is at his best, or better than he was before. But he's mad close. Matter of fact, of all the MCs that fell from grace lyrically (Jay, Wayne, Fab, etc.), not one of them has bounced back skillwise like Em has. Off topic, Wayne MURDERED that DJ Khaled joint. Anyways... this album is ok as a standalone album. The production is subpar but the lyrics were on point. But I'm hype that one of my favorite MCs is back on his old shit.

Are you on crack? This album isn't better than his 1st 3 albums or Relapse. It may be good as recovery
I like when Em has a concept to his albums. This shit is really everywhere, but lyrically Em is still a beast
Love game sucks.I wanted to either here them go crazy lyrically or do a better concept song

I haven't heard Relapse in a while but this beats it and I know for a fact this blows Recovery away since i was listening to a few days before the leak.... The album as a whole might not have one concept from start to finish but pretty much each song has some type of message and story to it besides really bezerk..
imo this is his 4th best album, but from a rapping stand point it's top 3
