Everyone is complaining about the hooks, to me, he was showing the lyricism off rather than a catchy ass hook. When people drop songs, the first thing that you catch is the hook and that's the first thing that sticks. I don't think he wanted that, he wanted the listener to hear his crazy ass multis, syllables and shit.

As for the beats, he obviously went out on a limb and did something totally different than he would usually do.

It's a good move IMO.

Thats always been his M.O. People who like albums for production and catchy hooks wont like Em, he dont make music for you. Thats what your Currency's and Jeezy's are for.

Thank you Masta Killa

Curren$y is a good rapper though, and his hooks aren't even noteworthy....

I'm about halfway through. I enjoyed the cam'ron mixtape more than this, and that mixtape was just ok. I think I'm just not into this style of music.

This kind of honest opinion I can respect...No excuses...No reaching...Just an honest reason(no pun intended)

Respect bredren.....

Em on Recovery (im assuming he may have done the same on this record for some tracks)

'

"One of the things that was cool for me about that record was getting beats that already had choruses on them. It's kind of like a challenge to myself to be able to hear somebody else's hook and kind of interpret the words. Because my own hooks, I already know what I mean when I write them. The way that I do music is, like, regardless of what the beat is and whatever kind of appeal it may or may not have, I always want to try to go as hard lyrically as I can. So regardless if the beat feels like, 'Wow maybe this could be played on the radio,' I'm not like, 'Maybe radio would play this so I'll just wing it.' Like, I always have looked at it like I want to approach every record from an emcee's aspect."

Word... come to think of it, his best bars on Recovery were on songs with other people's hooks (Going Thru Changes, Talking To Myself, 25 to Life, etc.). The problem is, them hooks are generic as fuck and don't really mean anything unless Em makes it mean something. If he feels like that, he needs to get better hooks. Him and Drake already worked well together... I'm curious to hear what he can do with a Future or a French Montana.

The verse actually goes... but the rest of that fuckery is way too long to sit through to get to it.

On my 4th rotation of the whole album.

1st time = mehh

2nd time = aite

3rd time = pretty dope

4th time = Im beginning to feel that Em is a Rap God, Rap God!

MMLP2 grows on you. Production isnt the same like a Still Trippy album.

This shit is GOAT and I aint a stan. Just a fan of music.
