blacks hold other blacks back.

yea yea yea...white people, racism, slavery....all had a part. not disputing that.

but thats obvious and takes the heat off of black people that don't really want to go above an beyond. there are very few that understand this topic and where he's coming from.

I am one of them.

i had more black people try to tear me down than white people...shit still kinda has me heated.

but I still try to reach back. an more times than not, I'm told I'm not street enough or whatever dumb shit.

hell even on this site...there is evidence of it.

i have always said...a successful American black man is usually a very unique, lonely and most challenged individual on this planet. anbthat goes double if you not into clubbin and fukkery.

The problem with statements like this is that you are not surrounding yourself with positive people. Get away from the hood and you will meet plenty of blacks who do not fit the description you gave. I know plenty of positive blacks and I know some negative ones and guess who I choose to socialize with? Not the negative ones. I have mentioned before that I cut off a few relatives because they are guilty of what you described.

The fact is whites hold blacks back even when they are skilled, educated, have the experience and are qualified. Case in point my older brother got fired from his job about ten years ago though he was real tight with the owner and was a manager, but another person who was in a high position was jealous of him, that person was white and the owner took his side and terminated my brother.

Now my brother has been working for Roto Rooter for the past 10 years since then with the same work ethic and that manager is tight with him at least for now. See how that works? You can get away from ignorant blacks, but whites run this country and that is who you will most likely be working for even if you do get your own business one day you will still have to rely on whites in some capacity of business.

"i have always said...a successful American black man is usually a very unique, lonely and most challenged individual on this planet"

Why do you think that is? Because of whites and they only allow a few to succeed. There is nothing unique about a successful black man at all. He is just the one that was allowed in, which is why there are not many more.

surrounding myself with positive people?

these are people that was above me trying to keep my down or not allow me in and wanting to be the only black person in control.

lets not make this into something it is not.

my point is that black people will also hold you back. if yall want to take that as a blanket statement....so be it. because thats far from the truth. there are alot of black people that helped me also.

i think most of the problem in this thread is people taking on something that they feel without trying to understand from another point.

none of yall can tell me what i lived...what i saw.

for the record i dont hang with ignorant people...im not sure where that came from.

i am a very positive person but past experiences should be brought to the table to make others aware....

seems like people only want to hear that white people are the enemy. and skip over our own can shit on us too.

shrugs

You did make blanket statements though and I felt the same way you did when I was living among negative people during my child and teenage years, but then I moved into an area where there were blacks who didn't fit that mold and were positive people trying to help each other.

Can a black person in a position hold you back? Sure and so can anyone. Think about why that black person wants to hold you back though? They may know that there is only room for a few blacks so they see you as competition even though both of you are great at what you do, but who do you think they will get rid of, an incompetent white that they like or a skilled black person?

That is the point I am making. Not saying that particular person(s) did not just have it out for you, but they could have known that they were a token black person and you may have became the new token, which is why there are not many blacks in high positions.

At the end of the day who really makes the decisions. That black person or a group of white?

You're the person not listening. Point out where it's being said "whites are the enemy". If, anything it's the opposite. Statements such as Dez's indicts Blacks while absolving white supremacy and systematic racism as prime obstacles to Black success in America. While there are Blacks that have and continue to engage in white supremacy and systematic racism, an overwhelming number of perpetrators of these extremely detrimental factors happen to be white.

The irony about what Dez said is that a white man literally held his fate in his hands. he has been labeled as T.O. part 2 though T.O. didn't have a troubled past like Dez had. If those whit owners decided he was not worth the risk then he would not have even been drafted or be in the league today. At one point most receivers were white and if there was still a large number of white receivers then Dez chances of getting drafted over a good white wr would be limited. That's something that he needs to be aware of and realize what the reality is. Not taking nothing away from him and I like watching him play and will continue to do so, but his opportunity came from the generation that had to break the color barrier in the NFL when there should not have been one to begin with.

They don't really see the other side.

No.. most come up from the hood poor experience racism just like regular black folk...hell dez mom was a prostitute...dat nigga got his money and changed big difference.. I'd he wasn't big tall and could catch he would be a good nigga... he full of it

At the end of the day who really makes the decisions. That black person or a group of white?

imma keep it 100.

I went to get a contract with j&j. nice amount of money. I worked with them in the past but was an employee of a company. I knew how much they paid this company for work, they had no problems paying it. so when I start my own business, I go to them an present my offer undercutting the comp by 25%. now the head guy is black as well as the finance guy. the finance guy wasn't for it. the head guy said he'll think about it. I was OK with that. turns out I had recently hooked up a guy with a job at the VA hospital. he was the head guys cousin. I didn't even know it until we had a convo. si he called his cousin an out in a good word. so I was later told the finance guy tried to make every excuse in the book to not let me get the contract..including not looking professional cause my shirt comes out of my pants. anyone in support roles know, with all the squatting you do, your shirt may come out you pants.but he couldn't give a legit reason. do they took me on. during our contract signing meeting, dude is steady saying they are paying me too much. like 5 other people saying im not being paid enough.

so anyway dude didn't stop..nigga tried to find everyway in the boom to have them let me go.

final the head fuy pulled me to the side to fill me in ...said dude doesn't like that I'm making that much.

why does or did it fukking matter to him? an this is just one story of many.

so a black person did hate on me an try to stop me from getting mine...regardless of what he felt..it goes back to my point of...black people will do the same shit white people do.

but to even make your statement about the token black person, still proves my point of someone black not wanting to see another black person grow.

so the statement you call blanket is directed to those who will try to stop you or hate just cuz you black like them.

and also like I asked earlier, why are those type people not considered all the shit I was called?

I'm the coon an jiggaboo for speaking on it? but not the niggas that actually are guilty of doing it cause I choose to include them in the equation? how does that make sense? that's why I say niggas hating , cuz they not hearing.

lastly, when you said they only let a few in the door. that actually does make the successful black man unique. because that makes him one of the few.

bruh I can go for days on this.

He got the notion from "Dr. Huxtable"

We Cannot Blame the White People any Longer

By Dr. William Henry 'Bill' Cosby, Jr., Ed.D.
http://www.californiaindianeducation.org/indian_humor/blame_whites.html

They're standing on the corner and they can't speak English.

I can't even talk the way these people talk:

"Why you ain't,

Where you is,

What he drive,

Where he stay,

Where he work,

Who you be...".

And I blamed the kid until I heard the mother talk.

And then I heard the father talk.

Everybody knows it's important to speak English except these knuckleheads. You can't be a doctor with that kind of crap coming out of your mouth.

In fact you will never get any kind of job making a decent living.

People marched and were hit in the face with rocks to get an Education, and now we've got these knuckleheads walking around.

The lower economic people are not holding up their end in this deal.

These people are not parenting. They are buying things for kids.

$500 sneakers for what?

And they won't spend $200 for "Hooked on Phonics."

I am talking about these people who cry when their son is standing there in an orange suit.

Where were you when he was 2?

Where were you when he was 12?

Where were you when he was 18, and how come you didn't know that he had a pistol?

And where is the father? Or who is his father?

People putting their clothes on backward. Isn't that a sign of something gone wrong?

People with their hats on backward, pants down around the crack, isn't that a sign of something?

Isn't it a sign of something when she has her dress all the way up and got all type of needles (piercings) going through her body?

What part of Africa did this come from?

We are not Africans. Those people are not Africans; they don't know a thing about Africa.

I say this all of the time — it would be like white people saying they are European-American — that is totally stupid.

I was born here, and so were my parents and grand parents and, very likely my great grandparents. I don't have any connection to Africa, no more than white Americans have to Germany, Scotland, England, Ireland, or the Netherlands.

The same applies to 99 percent of all the black Americans as regards to Africa — so stop, already!

With names like Shaniqua, Taliqua and Mohammed and all of that crap...and all of them are in jail.

Brown or black versus the Board of Education is no longer the white person's problem.

We have got to take the neighborhood back.

People used to be ashamed.

Today a woman has eight children with eight different 'husbands' — or men or whatever you call them now.

We have millionaire football players who cannot read.

We have million-dollar basketball players who can't write two paragraphs. We, as black folks, have to do a better job.

Someone working at Wal-Mart with seven kids, you are hurting us.

We have to start holding each other to a higher standard.

We cannot blame the white people any longer.

Says the man who's son was murdered and has children who have suffered from substance abuse. With all of his resources his progeny are the ultimate failures in life.

you should be careful with that bruh.

resources mean nothing on the grand scheme.

im not sure why you made a statement like that....

his resources helped alot of other families. black families.

thats just fukked to to say

There is nothing be careful about. I know 100% that resources do not trump will power, belief and the support of loved ones.

How about you read Cosby's bullshit rhetoric about Blacks to find out "why".

If, you think it's cool for a man to talk out the side of his neck about other peoples life issues\experiences while, their own are in shambles it's no wonder you continue co-signing some of the most outlandish statements made by Blacks against Blacks.

we just gonna see this different. i learn from anyone. his life being in shambles doesnt mean he doesnt make points I can use. learn from his mistakes.

Every time a athlete or celeb says some coon shit, niggaz like you come rushing in "well, i kinda agree". First off, not all black folks sit and blame white ppl. There are regular minded everyday black ppl who hold themselves accountable, but understand the effects of systematic racism. For Dez to say "black ppl only hold other black ppl back" is stupid. No nigga, slavery, jim crow, mass incarceration etc..have ALL systematically held us back for centuries. There are LAWS in place for the simple purpose of denying us our right to vote. Racism was INTENTIONALLY put in place to make the playing field uneven for black ppl vs white ppl. He is making a misinformed generalization of ALL black ppl that racist white ppl will use as fuel.

Dez is a idiot, and so are you for agreeing with this coon shit.

jigaboo?

really..

porque?

so because black people tried to not let me in and i speak about it...im a jiggaboo? so, what are the black people that didnt let me in called?

i agree black people will hold you back just like the other shit will.

dont really care if you agree ....thats my reality.

all the other shit he talking im not talking about....yall niggas lose focus too damn fast without processing.

always thinking someone calling all black people the same.

if the shoe dont fit ...dont fukkin wear it.

if you not a lazy nigga then dont let the lazy nigga shit bother you.

you niggas cant compartmentalize for shit

Bruh, ur a shallow mf. Dez didnt preference his comments. The point of what he said affects the perception of ALL black folks. It further reinforces negative stereotypes that black folks are just lazy finger pointers who make excuses for not succeeding as a race. I dont make excuses. I also know quite a few successful black ppl who work everyday. The point is i still UNDERSTAND systematic racism is alive & well, i know the playing field aint even for black & white ppl. The margin of error for me is alot slimmer. For a nigga to say the biggest thing holding my ppl back is other black ppl, is just stupid and non factual. What this was is another rich black coon lecturing his ppl on why theyre not rich like he is. In your case, you're a idiot trying to come across as somewhat smart when i KNOW ur ignorant as hell

Niggaz like Dez (and YOU) have no credibility to speak on racial topics

You are just another dickhead missing the whole point.

You just said what i said an don't even know it because you think I support his whole statement rather than what i stated I am talking about.

Please tell me where I say everything is black people fault ...where did I say its not white people? Or did i come from a stand point of our own can be a problem too? TOO as in also, along with, included.

Can you like a player on a team an not like the team? Is it possible?

Try to figure out why I said that.

So I guess ill end this here with this.

How did successful black people get successful?

Did they understand the obstacles, while navigating them?

did they stop to complain or complained while still working?

Did they allow the hardships stop them?

Did shit get tough at times?

did they rise above what was expected of them?

Did they allow the enviroment to change them? To steer them to distract them?

Did they set goals and went after those goals with no option of quitting?

Did they reach their goal?

Are they happy where they are?

Are you a witness to their struggles?

Did they reach back and say, if i can do it, you can too?

did you say ok or did you say its not for me, im cool where I'm at?

did they show you frustration or did they say ok cool? Did they try to offer help again?

I think you should try traveling that road an seeing how many people dont want before you talk greasy.

I know I get frustrated as shit seeing how easy some shit is and how difficult other shit is but could be easier with help.

I know I get frustrated as fukk seeing a black person not wanting another to rise.

I know I get frustrated as fukk when a black man has to consistantly prove himself.

I know I get frustrated as fukk when i see black people not livings up to their potential.

I know I get frustrated as fukk when the last sentence is taken as negative. Inb4 "see. Why would you think I am not living up to it? That's coon shit an you assuming a lot"

Smdh

So nigga...a few steps in my shoes an if you see and saw what ive seen...you would understand why i come at my people the way i do.

You and a few others take it as looking down when its more frustration, that more of y'all not out getting global money when i know your more than capable.

But I can also say fukk it..I dont care, cuz I'm getting mine like many others do. But then a black man is still in the wrong.

Its all about perspective.

You should maybe check out my motivation thread.

Try to understand who your talking about

You should maybe check out my motivation thread.

maybe you niggas should here it from a non athlete...

what he is saying is true..

blacks hold other blacks back.

yea yea yea...white people, racism, slavery....all had a part. not disputing that.

but thats obvious and takes the heat off of black people that don't really want to go above an beyond. there are very few that understand this topic and where he's coming from.

Smh@this jiggaboo^^^^^^^

What u said? U didnt post anything of substance. All u did was stay ur coon azz in the grey area. Dez's comments were filled with ignorance, starting with "i agree with Charles Barkley". If black ppl get tricked into thinking WE are the biggest enemy then we mine as well exterminate ourselves. Stop confusing YOUR personal experiences or emotions with every black persons. As a WHOLE, the playing field is still uneven to the point we have to work TRIPLE times as harder just to break even. The margin of error is nowhere near close for us. Thats not a excuse its FACTUAL

but is it an excuse to not even try?

and my experiences are relevant..to help those behind me aware.

the playing field is uneven...yes i know, but it goes back to...."ok, now what?"

working twice as hard as them to get half as far...i get it, now what?

there is no gray area.....its you know the rules are handicapped in their favor now are you going to play or sit this out?

this handicap is not going anywhere any time soon...so now what?

are you going to meet the challenge? are you going to find where you fit in to get in? or will you fall back like they want you too and not try?

and how can anyone trick black people into thinking something if they know what the truth is? who tries to exterminate black people? white people and who else?

hopefully you are getting what i am saying. maybe go after those who want to hold black people back, whether they are black or white with this same wreckless energy you coming at me with..
