Just do it or don't.

My nigga u read my mind.niggas talk to much. Just do it and be judged off ur actions vs telling the world what u gonna do. It comes off as disingenuous and wanting a pat on the back for joining kap

Shaq commented...somebody get this nigga up out the paint for this one

He explained that his father was a military man and he has uncles who are in law enforcement, so sitting during the National Anthem is something he would "never" do.

Shaq said that his question for Kaepernick is: "What happened last year?"

"How come you didn't decide to do this last year or the year before that or the year before that?"

Shameful

All these years sitting next to Barkley is rubbing off on him huh..

Whats good about these vets speaking out is how it brings the patriotic angle to our race problems. People in this country willfully neglect how unpatriotic, unconstitutional, unhumane, and just plain evil it is the way black people are treated by the system. But this sends the narrative that reminds people these are fellow citizens suffering, not just Tyrone and them.

Too often the system will punish us by this country's laws, but not allow us to use those same laws for our own protection. The shit has always been a slap in the face for all the soldiers that believed in America. Especially, niggas fighting for freedoms that wont/don't apply to their own people. That's the shit that made black civilians have a negative view of joining the military.

Military brats or children that grew up with thier guardians in the military usually have a different outlook on America and its social issues. Most of them (especially if their family did tours overseas) didn't grow up some what segregated like the average American does. Most of them have a large subset of multicultural friends. Most of them don't face the overt racism that the normal minority kid faces growing up.

You can honestly a lot of times tell who were military brats as opposed to regular kids easily if they are minorities and its because their situations growing up a lot of times are vastly different than the normal minority kid. It's kind of sad when some of them find out the hard way that what they grew up with thinking is normal is far from the case for a lot of people. People like Shaq and that one football player whose ideas got posted a couple of pages back are those types of people.

I don't understand shaq point of view.

We keep hearing "there are other ways to get the point across" but no one offers any alternative.

He was doing good until he pivoted to the black on black crime argument.

He just acknowledged it. It's a problem he should acknowledge it. He mentioned other things like equal housing and healthcare too.
