He was doing good until he pivoted to the black on black crime argument.

He just acknowledged it. It's a problem he should acknowledge it. He mentioned other things like equal housing and healthcare too.

That's what I was saying. He acknowledged it and said when you take away jobs and hope that's what you get. And he said people kill people that are in close proximity. He handled this extremely well.

Mehn Stephen A Smith is really a fuck nigga. His ass on Mike and Mike talmbout the NFL could implement a policy that requires all to stand for the anthem. This nigga really from Philly?

Can't enforce that. That's a freedom of speech issue. I'd sue for billions.

NFL is a private industry...they could create that rule...same reason NBA was able to fine the player that did it before

Private industry cannot supercede constitutional rights. That's like saying the nfl could create a rule saying everyone has to say the lords prayer before and after the game.

NFL is not a christian entity.. you cant mandate religion

And you can't mandate patriotism.

My business partner is a huge Steelers fan, season ticket holder. He condemns Kap cause he feels he has bad character....I had to remind him that he has a framed picture of him and Ben Rothlesberger, along with a signed Jersey.

Only in America can a multi rapist be Hailed and celebrated, whilst someone who is peacefully protesting be condemned.

I don't understand shaq point of view.

We keep hearing "there are other ways to get the point across" but no one offers any alternative.

From all the uproar it looks like this is the best way to get the point across

Plus the fact that the protest isn't the issue, the matter he's protesting is and Shaq didn't speak on that at all ( and I'm glad he didn't).

Yeah there's atrocities going on but....I don't like the way they're being pointed out.

Faux used that dumb shit like a house boy

What did he say in response?

The Seattle Seahawks will become the first NFL team to join Colin Kaepernick’s silent protest during the national anthem this Sunday.

In their home opener against the Miami Dolphins, the Seattle Seahawks have planned a “big surprise” during the national anthem, according to starting linebacker Bobby Wagner. Wagner emphasized that the entire roster will take part in the protest, though he didn’t specify if the team would sit or kneel.

“Anything we want to do, it’s not going to be individual. It’s going to be a team thing. That’s what the world needs to see. The world needs to see people coming together versus being individuals,” Wagner told the Seattle Times.

The team has the support of head coach Pete Carroll, who recently stood up for cornerback Jeremy Lane when he sat during the national anthem in solidarity with San Francisco 49ers quarterback Colin Kaepernick last Thursday before Seattle’s final preseason game against the Oakland Raiders.

“[Lane]’s pretty clear on what he did and what he was trying to express and I think it is very simple and so we’ll leave that up to him,” Carroll told the Times.

In addition to Lane and Wagner, starting wide receiver Doug Baldwin has publicly expressed support for Kaepernick on social media. After Kaepernick started receiving blowback for refusing to stand up for the national anthem, Baldwin defended the protest and cast Kaepernick’s critics as ignorant of what free speech entails. Defended Ben, how he was never proven guilty...usual white tactics.

The good ol "innocent until proven guilty" double standard...

I asked cuz all my white Co-workers and associates have been doing their best not to bring up the kaepernick shit. And I'm not on social media, so I've been walking around with argument ammo and nobody to empty the clip on.

Shaq commented...somebody get this nigga up out the paint for this one

He explained that his father was a military man and he has uncles who are in law enforcement, so sitting during the National Anthem is something he would "never" do.

Shaq said that his question for Kaepernick is: "What happened last year?"

"How come you didn't decide to do this last year or the year before that or the year before that?"

Kaepernick clearly stated that he's been educating himself and talking to other activists about the issue so he could be more informed before he decided to take a stand. Obviously he felt he wasn't informed enough to do it in previous years.

Plus wtf does it matter? That's like telling the NAACP well why didn't y'all boycott the buses in the 20's, 30's, and 40's? Smh.

Shannon has been doing a great job making strong points countering racist white arguments against Kaepernick's protest.

"If you're not going to lend a hand to help me up, don't push me down either"
