Yup the color selection in the salons suck. I'm thinking about buying a used UV lamp and getting the Gelish polish myself. I looked on the nailharmony website and they have a ton of colors. Only thing is they're over $15 for one bottle Add to the that the cost of the lamp and I'm probably out 50 or more bucks with just a single color...but I'm sorely tempted. I love how long this lasts.

@Iheart , do you put anything on top of your own nail? I put acrylic on mine b/c my nails break easily. I also find that using acrylic makes any polish last a little longer than w/o any...but not 3 weeks.

Yeah, my Indian neighbors keep inviting me to go with them. They go every year and make a huge deal about the festivities. She makes me jewelry and even made my daughter a beautiful sawry (sp?) for her bday. I'm going!!

Up until the Gelish, no I'd just use regular polish but it chips in a day or two at the most. With the UV Gel you just use a base coat, the gel polish, then top coat. It makes your nails firm, they don't break, and it lasts forever. Plus when you remove it, it doesn't damage your natural nail like the acrylic does. When I used to use the acrylic my nails would get weak and tear easily. The gel doesn't do any of that.
