As an older head (I'll be 40 in September) the lyrics have gotten more extreme and off the wall since the 80s. Schooly D, NWA, Too $hort and 2 Live Crew pretty much started the Parental Advisory lyrics but over the past 20 years rappers have gotten so extreme that sometimes an entire album will be about how a rapper sells drugs and shoots people, which at one point was new and different but nowadays its actually boring.
No disrespect to Meek Mills but he's one of the few people out now that I can say that I've heard his whole album. The album was alright but he wasn't saying anything new that Jadakiss or Cam'ron didn't say 10 years ago.
I'm sick of these drug dealing rappers that talk about how much they make and then they spend it at the club. How stupid. I can't think of any rappers that rap about investing in Stocks and/or bonds.
