lol. no one cares zoe is latina.... and no the same people who lined up to see her in movies like colombiana and star trek are not going to line up to see her play nina simone
its not so much just zoe's skin tone fans of the late singer are just upset that nina who was a major cultural icon who defied the narrow ideals of beauty is now being played by someone who fits squarely into them ....especially considering the darkness of nina's skin was a running theme through her music and hollywood has a history of playing fast and loose with the appearance of black historical figures in films.
the movie also is a romance so the casting of zoe also raises the question is it still too much to see a darker skin black woman, lips full, nose wide play a viable love interest in a hollywood production?
hopefully zoe surprises us though and rises to the occasion considering not to many black biopics get the green light *shrugs*
