She was the talk of the town for both performances. That's not to take away from the stars of the movies. She also showed her acting abilities.

That doesn't mean she can lead a movie though, very few black actors can (Denzel, Will, Wesley,etc). She is one of those black actors who will always get supporting roles (like Anthony Mckie), but they aren't lead actors.
