The point of the trial was to set an precedent. Because it was an mistrial of the 1st count, anybody now could get away with it legally in court pointing to this case. If he gets convicted on the 1st count of murder in the first degree, that would effectively make "Stand Your Ground" law null and voided in most of the cases in the future.

I dont think he gon walk..... the circumstances between this and the Zimmerman case are very different. Mainly being that Zimmerman was a "rent-a-cop" patrolling a neighborhood and had reason to suspect something suspicious, whereas Dunn just killed dude in cold blood. The intent wasn't the same with Dunn as it was with Zimmerman. I'd be SURPRISED if Dunn walked. He's going to rot in hell.

The white guy got time because he didn't kill the other boys. If he would have killed all of them, he would have claimed they were about to jump him AKA he was in fear for his life and walked away free just like GZ.
