Blueprint 3 has some nice songs on it I mean how can you hate this.

According to the IC the album was wack though and only sold cuz Jay know how to market himiself lmao...some logic I can see if you said it had some below average songs on there like Hate, Song with Drake, But to say the whole ablum wack is not true...

Niggas hate success. They find every reason to hate on a successful black man that's doing shit his way. If Nas was more successful, they'd hate on him too...just look at Jay, T.I., Wayne, Ross & any other brother that's getting it. I can't say I like Wayne's music, but he's doing shit the way he wants to do it. I know I won't like his music so I don't bother to listen to it. These dudes listen to rappers they don't like just to find something to hate about. The shit is pathetic.

Yeah because Nas ain't a millionaire as well?

You know what I mean. Mario Chalmers is a millionaire, but he's not on Lebron's level. Those dudes I mentioned are on another level as far as the success they've attained. Nas has moved more units than Ross & maybe T.I.P., but he can't match their financial status. We both know he's not seeing Jay or Wayne so there's no reason to speak on it. Dude is a good artist...hasn't made anything I really cared to listen to more than once in the past 6 or 7 yrs. I cop his shit, listen to it & keep it moving. I don't see the need to go on boards & post have much I dislike his music or how wack I think this or that track is...takes too much negative energy for that.

I find it humorous that dudes consider LIG an instant classic. Really? LOL As someone stated before, classic is a title that gets thrown around like crazy. Jay been proved his GOAT status. You can tell because the only person haters compare him to is his pre-retirement self. That's not on some Jordan level shit???

Im trying to listen to Life is good and already its hard to get pass the lack luster production and Nas's same ole delivery and flow. Nas has skill but his charisma (or lack there of) will never draw me into a true fan. call me hard to please but i expected more from an album everyone is so hyped about.

I've noticed that a lot of Jay-Z fans give him credit for his subpar work and say it is far greater than what it actually is. Nas has five classics now, imo. Jay-z has four imp. Reasonable Doubt, Vol.1, Blueprint, Black Album. Forcing a classic record ruins the process, he needs to just make music that does not suck and keep the "yes" men away from him.

I always said Jay has three classics: RD, BP1 and The Black Album

Near classics - Vol 1. American Gangster

Nas with two classics - Illmatic, Stillmatic

Near Classics - It was written, God Son (Possibl Life is Good)

Production on this album was actually pretty good.

Anyway, LIG is clearly not a classic.

Just because Nas came back with a dope solo joint after a 4 year absence(solo wise) doesn't make the album a classic.

Yeah I was wondering the same thing. I would love to hear a American Gangster type Jay less bragging and more introspection but not.like the introspection on WTT. Jay sounded out of place. I would like Jay to drop music on par with untitled, DR or LIG but I don't see it happening. Nas has been wearing the Crown for four years now

You niggas kill me with this KHUFFI MUSIC NONESENSE, Jay-z ain't a bean pie eating rapper, why is that so hard fo you niggas to get. The dude came from the streets, that's like saying why don't G RAP make a introspective album. It's like ya'll hold Jay-z to this double standard and use the backpack/conscious standard for rhetoric. Why can't Nas make entertaining music and club bangers, that's just not Nas lane. Accept Nas for what he brings and Jay for what he brings.

Jay-z been holding NY since Biggie died, say what you want about his albums or whatever, but the man has never had any lulls in his career like Nas. He has consistently burned up the summer when NY was going through it's drought.

@ the bolded: it's funny you mentioned that, being that the first song Jay dropped a verse on was on some Muslim shit. And a lot of those "bean pie eating" brothers are from the streets too, when it comes to NYC. Same goes for 5%ers and Black Hebrew Israelites.

That's actually not the first song Jay dropped a verse on for one thing. The point i am making is, why do you niggas continue to use your pretentious standards to try to compare Jay and Nas. They are two different artist with two different upbringing. I don't here people telling Big Daddy Kane to spit that knowledge of a Rakim, G Rap to stop the street tales and get deeper like a Chuck D.

I honestly believe these Nas fans are salty at Jays success, like ole boy said, you don't see Jay fans talking about Nas should make a Black Album. Wanna know why, because Jays career is on a whole other plateau than Nas.

Well I know I was close. I highly doubt he dropped any cameos prior to him fucking with Jaz in 89-90.

And you right, Jay never had a lull in his career. I even stated that Jay has a better career then Nas in one of buttuh_b's threads I believe.

I don't have a problem with Jay's content, as long as the lyrics are dope.

Edit: Jay should bring heat like he did on Shiny Suit Theory and Murder To Excellence more often.

But he does, people just like to act like he doesn't

So ambitious

New Day

American Dreaming

Pray

etc

People like to paint Nas as this deep intellectual even though this nigga be spitting about bitches, ice, and cars too and paint Jay as the materialistic nigga with no soul.

Nas has more substance than Jay it isn't a lie.

But its not about who has MORE substance, its about proving the stans wrong that he has NO substance...Nas stans always put the comparison together just to try to uplift Nas...He don't need yall to help him out lol

Exactly they compare Jay to his earlier self..He has nothing to prove and it kills the Nas stands though lol...Everytime Jay drops something they compare it to old Jay...But when Nas drops something they compare it to what Jay Z is doing to try and measure Nas' success lol...

You can mention Jay without Nas

BUT

They can't mention Nas without Jay

That's your opinion...I like all those artists besides Wayne better than Nas right now. There was a time when I appreciated everything Nas put out. At this point & time in my life, I'm not a big fan of his music. I appreciate what he does, but I don't listen to his latest efforts too often. He'll always be no lower than 2 on my GOAT list, but I base that off of his first 2 albums. If you put GFID or LIG in front of me & asked me to pick one, I'd go with GFID. It's just how I feel. It's not a knock on Nas. I'm just about the entertainment value nowadays when it comes to music. I watch enough MSNBC, CNN, & read too many books to need to listen to someone preach on their album. When I was younger & was trying to find my way in the world, I appreciated all that he came with & his point of view was refreshing. Now, I'm grown & I see things how I see them & I don't need a rapper to educate me on the way of the world or anything pertaining to that. I don't knock him because there are still plenty of people who are blind, deaf & dumb to the facts, but I'm not one of them...so if I want to listen to Hold Me Back over World's An Addiction, I will do just that

How many songs did Nas preach on Life Is Good?
