I think only Straight Outta Compton, The Chronic and maybe Its Dark and Hell Is Hot can compare. Jay has never made music like that to make such an impact, maybe "DOA" on a much lower level.

First off you're reaching. Next if you're going to present a question please set a barometer the answer needs to be in order to counter the argument. You said will Jay make a album with the level of impact as MMLP but you never explained what impact MMLP had on rap. You're just using sales to justify impact, which is ignorant because there are many cases of artist not selling huge numbers out the gate but their music changing the game (rakim, BDP, NWA, etc). MMLP just solidified his career more or less not really change the game. Nelly use to put up large numbers but niggas will never sit here and say that nigga change the game. So to answer your question yes Jay z has made a record (BP) which in my view will stand up to time much more than MMLP due to production and also directed how most of these rap niggas styles.

Eminem strengthened the freedom of speeches place in music.

Eminem even got you niggas using the term "stan" in your normal vocabulary.

Jay has never done anything on that level.

Excuse me but what's your definition of impact? Only remnant from that album is the term 'stan'.

No one even bumps that album no more. Niggas still bump Blueprint

Jay influenced more rappers than Em did.... plus two of the biggest artists of the decade (and foresseable future) (Lil Wayne and Kanye West).. Whether he did it with help or not.. he also personally brought cosigned a rapper producer who almost eradicated gangsta rap in the mainstream... and someone who may have more influence in the future than both of them... could say the same with lil wayne as well

Yes Em gave 50 the cosign... but 50 by all intents has reached the peak of his impact

What type of impact?

Em's race of suburban white kids found Hip Hop and has tried their best to use it just to say "I can rap"?

Machine Gun Kelly>Lame

Lil Wyte>Lame

?

IMO The Blueprint had a bigger impact on Hip Hop because at the time mostly hood niggas were still buying albums.

of all the hip hop heads, casual fans, dj's, etc I know, no on ever mentions this album or spins these records....
of course thats just my circle, but to compare that album to The Chronic, and elevate it above hip hops many classics is crazy to me...
y'all go ahead though...
y'all love dude so whatever...

Your missing the point of "Impact". Not once did I compare those albums to MMLP musically.

I dont think he means just the music. I think he means the everyday lives of people.

But I see where you going with this. Jay certainly inspired weezy and kanye. Do you think he fathered "swag" too?

Only impact it was was negative. It introduced a huge amount of "fans" who honestly don't now shit about hip hop but since eminem sells records and they like eminem, they somehow think they do. Not one successful artist has emulated eminem. Can anyone name a successful artist that has sampled one eminem song? It cracks me up how an album can sell 10 million records, supposedly, yet rarely do you hear any non-white publication mention one track from it. How many times have you hit a club and one track from MMLP get played? How many artist speak on how MMLP influenced them? Shit, how many artist have even acknowledged the album from a non-ass kissing perspective? I seen magazine spreads on Blueprint, Illmatic, Doggystyle, Chronic, OB4CL, you name it. Not once have I seen any unbiased writing about that album with Stan on it. Because that's basically what it is.

I submit that Jay has been the topic of censorship debates to the same level as Eminem...
I think u may be overstating Eminems trials in this area...

Hmm this is possible. I was very young during the nwa/tupac area.
But I do remember the Eminem craze very well. I even remember a protest outside Tower Records lol
