I could care less why he's challenging it, even if it's to save his campaign. The bill is racist and xenophobic, and should be challenged, as well as the racist mindset of people who support it, which I still don't think is really the majority of people's opinions in the states. I support it... and I sure as hell no i'm not racists. I just feel that there are laws and procedures that are set in place for a reason. And to tolerate one infraction can lead to chaos and anarchy (with time). I'm sure you don't want that. And being a former marine and current soldier, I don't really like the fact that money is being given to those who are not deserving of it based on the requirement of being a citizen or naturalized. How would you feel if you took your kid(s) to the hospital and had to wait while illegals could just walk in and get seen because they are recieving medical benefit subsidies from the government. That's not a comfortable feeling is it? It's beyond the shock value of terms like racists or xenophobia... while there are ignorance out there that do not make the initiative appealing, those terms do not reflect (I feel) the majority who support it.
