Are you insane? Pac was extremely mediocre lyrically. Come on fam. Even the biggest Pac groupie knows this.

pac lyrics to me are genius, granted he was not a battle rapper...but as a song writer he is top 5 easily....songs like changes, white mans world, dear mamma, keep ya head up and a million others are not mediocre...we all dont look for gay ass miracle spiritual punchlines....

and lyrics are only one part of the puzzle, pac had all the other tools which 99% of those rappers he dissed aint have...

dmx isnt the best battle rapper lyrically, but his engery and the way he delivers his words makes him deadly, when he says "Fuck U" it sounds like Tyson punched u in the face...now when lil Cease says "Fuck U" it sounds like a girl punched u in the face and broke her hand...

lyrics dont mean shit when u cant deliver them right

and jay z did diss Pac, have u heard the record? it was wack lmao

he hasnt developed the skills to go at pac back den

lol well i neva said hit em up shut everybodiez careerz down besidez chino xl...

I know gee but you were saying had Pac lived things would of been different. Well the same can be said for Biggie also but the reality is they both died and "Hit Em Up" faded while Bad Boy took over Hip Hop that's what happen and that's the reality therefore the poster that said "Hit Em Up ended everyone's careers" is out of his mind. You career is not over when you are going platinum or multiplatinum. Chino XL who was basically underground and The Shoutout by Pac elevated his career is the only career that never took off but again he was underground already. Everyone else did just fine after "Hit Em Up" including Biggie who during the 9 months he lived after Hit Em Up managed to release Lil Kim debut one of the most successful female rap albums ever and finish two of the most successful rap albums in music history, "Life After Death" and "No Way Out".

Pac was no battle rapper nor did he possess the skills to pic an emcee apart with bars. Interviews, maybe. Bars, no. That's all I'm saying. I got all Pac's music. Shit I still put "Trapped" on everytime I push a rep. However, I'm aware that from a lyrical standpoint, both Jay and Nas would open that nigga up worse than those autopsy photos...

i am not saying he was skilled as a battle emcee...

Jay went at Pac, the song is there...we all heard it, shit is WACK....like i said Jay hadnt developed as a rapper, he hadnt perfected his craft, so he possessed no threat to Pac whatsoever

Nas on the other hand i dont doubt he could beat Pac in a battle, but even if he did, Pac's movement was to strong

What Pac had over Nas and Jay is raw, rough aggression, he put emphasis on every word and made every line count....where as Nas is monotone

When Pac raps it felt as if he meant every word, when nas raped it just seems like ra ra...only time i seen nas get mad was during ether and that shit was personal...u cud argue ether wasnt lyrically fuckin with takeoever, but nas energy sealed the deal for me..

Pac lyrically on paper cant beat them, but song for song, he can beat them....lyrics have more meaning in a live battle

and jayz not doing better if u consider wasting money on the worst nba franchise in history and actin like a bitch over a bitch that made him change his own last name like a ho.plus crying on the radio after getting ether

and nas took a huge L by getting married 2 a gold digger

it seems like everyone pac dissed in 96 r fucked up now

I think the whole but they went platinum argument is flawed. Niggas fail to realize that this is before the internet was apart of our everyday lives. Music wasn't as accessible in certain regions. I'm from Dallas and all my niggas were pac fans, but they had the big albums too because that was the only way they would hear a rebuttal. The same with Mobb Deep. Back then people brought cd just because they were on the shelf. 50 started all of this sales shit. That's when niggas started talking about flops and successes when it comes to sales. Name one nigga that was talking about soundscan shit back then.

Jay Z is messed up now?, Puffy is messed up now? Forbes Magazine disagrees with you. Where is everyone that was on "Hit Em Up"? Where are the Outlawz now? What happen to Suge and Death Row? Exactly.

That's all I'm saying. To me lyrics is the backbone of any battle. Emotion is a nice touch, but if you A,B,Cing it, I can't give you a pass. I don't care how loud a nigga screams "I'm fly like insects", the shit will still be wack. Lyrics have equal meaning in any battle. Ether, No Vaseline, Takeover, Super Ugly, Real Motherfucking G's, Dre Day were all studio recorded diss tracks that are viewed as top tier disses. I never heard no Jay to Pac diss, which means it probably was wack. However, had Pac caught Nas or Jay during 00-01, he would have got ate something ridiculous....

i think if u look at Pac and Big career

Big took the L

Pac has been more successful in death than him as well as when alive...

with the new Pac movie directed by Training Day Director, Pac about to take another shit on that Biggy movie lol

Bigs downfall has been Diddy, that nigga milked him dry, Bigs mom should have handled her business like Afenie

also Pacs fanbase seems to have trippled since his death whereas niggas could give a fuck about Biggy

The Jay diss is called DOA. hov hyped it up like it was something dope, i was disappointed

I dont think Pac and Nas would have been going at each other in 00-01, beef was squashed

i also feel Pac was growing better lyrically with each album, he was only 25...makaveli lyrically is his best album and his most creative..

Jays career would not have worked out like it did if Pac were alive....

Nah, you really can't say that. Pac was way to smart to be beefing with rappers for much longer. He focus would have surely transcended to Suge Knight raping him out of millions of dollars. Jay-z legacy is waaaay to strong to deny it due to one rapper. Pac was that dude, but let's not put him in a suit and bleach his skin color...
