For a Pac groupie, you sure DON'T know your shit. First, Pac release five albums before he died. Next we have the domestic breakdown of pac album while he was breathing

2Pacalypse Now - Gold
Strictly for my N.I.G.G.A.Z - Platinum
Me Against the World - 2x Platinum
AOEM (The year he signed to one of the biggest labels around and succumbed) - 9x platinum

Now Jay-z (first four albums)

Reasonable Doubt - Platinum
Vol 1 - Platinum
Vol 2 - 5x Platinum
Vol. 3 - 3xPlatinum

Now, you take away AOEM, which may have "benefited" from Pac getting out of jail, signing to a powerhouse record label and dying, and the numbers are quite interesting...

actually RD only went Gold dog....people went and copped later, it was actually regarded as a flop because Jay had BIG hyping the record up and it still aint do the numbers he wanted

ALL EYES ON ME was at 6 mil while he was alive and rising

dead or alive, Pac was going to do numbers, he was the first real hood rapper to have that much success, he just had a way of bring controversial and making a impact. also the fans loved him, he had just about every state in america on his side during the east west shit....his fanbase was bigger than any other rapper at the time

you cant compare HOV and Pac record sales wise..Pac wins everytime...only Em can be compared in that department

also i count the makaveli album in to everything that was going to big number dead or alive, people were waiting for a follow up to AEOM. he oversaw the entire record, just never got a chance to take out the nas diss...

First, do you a link that states that Pac did 6 mil in less than two months? Also, if Pac fans loved him so much, where were they before he got locked up, signed to the biggest label on the planet and died? His sales doesn't indicate they were there before that. Lastly, Reasonable DouBt went platinum. It doesn't matter if people "copped it later".

So Over their first 4 albums:

Tupac - 12.5

Jay Z - 10

Jay Z is not that far off but Jay Z was not moving Biggie nor Pac units while they were alive oh yea for the record:

Biggie with 2 albums: 14 Million (More than Pac and Jay over their 1st 4 albums). Biggie with his 4 LP's = 17 Million, He did the most with less. But yes Pac is still the GOAT saleswise in the STATES. Eminem got him beat worldwide but stateside Pac is still King. Even after you add "Recovery" Sales, Pac still wins Stateside, check it on RIAA.com

its in the mtv docu, i saw it way back in 1998, it was one of the first docus they did.... they ran by all his album sales while he was alive....

he did 6 mil while alive, he was even boasting about doing 5 mil while alive few months before he died, various interviews and concerts...

and i still count the makavelui album into his sales, if he had been alive i believe it would have sold way more....which was a shame...

another thing is Pac has sold even more, while Suge was in Jail he wasnt handling his paperwork so the sales of AEOM were not logged with the RIAA....nobody really knows how much AEOM has sold, and i would bet ,my crib its done more sales than LAD

i copped that album about 3 times in the last 10 years, cuz one cd broke and another had scratches

Ready to Die went 4x platinum and received a BIG boost after he died. LAD released after he died. Can't really say he did "more with less"...

1 year and 4 months after it's release (9 Months after Pac died and on what would have been his 26th B-day) It was certified 9x Platinum.

So Yes, he moved 5 Million in about 3 months which at that time for a rap album was unheard of. That record would be broken in a year when Biggie's "Life After Death" sold 6 Million in 3 months. Actually both "All Eyes On Me" and "Life After Death" have not been recertified. Pac should have a Diamond award by now.

How? With 2 less albums he sold more than Tupac and Jay did with 4 LP's. Also "Born again" and "Duets" were cut and paste albums yet they both basically went multiplatinum. Biggie did the most with less which is why domestically Biggie is a Top 10 Selling rapper all time with only 4 LP's.

basically, Pac even says he went 5 times Plat when the record dropped....

there many record sales of that album unaccounted for due to suges mishandling

and if niggas counting LAD they should count Makaveli album

Pac had oversaw the makaveli project right to the end minus the nas shit where as alot of BIGS LAD album was incomplete when he died

Everyone knows Jay's sales inflated after Big's death cause Biggie's fanbase drifted to him. You don't go from Platinum to 5x Platinum in 1 album. Those 10 Million "Life After Death" fans brought "Hard Knock Life".
