There are talented new comers on the scene like French Montana though but the problem is if French released an Album will New Yorkers actually go out and support the product or legally doanload it?

No My Grandrather Lived In harlem for about 10 years after Leaving New Orleans Before Moving out West. I have Quite a few Cousins who have moved back and FOrth between NYC and Seattle One Worked as a Nanny out there for 6 years. I have Lived In Raleigh, Cleveland, Salt lake LA And Seattle I have stayed for Periods in Atlanta Philly Miami Las Vegas Tampa Chicago Oakland Portland and Boston. Every place I have lived I have Known those from NYC I form My Position and Knowledge based from My Experiences with its Native Residents and My families Experiences there...

His Buzz was not as Big in LA as it was IN New york But he still had a Buzz in LA which is more then Most westcoast artists of the same caliber could say about their own Buzz in NY. Kats Like Mac Mall, Spice 1, WC, Mack 10 and Coolio were Huge out west how Big did they get over their? how Many times did you hear anyonf them on the radio(Maybe Coolio cause of gangstas paradise) the shit does not seem to run Both ways with NYC and the rest of the nation. Also you never answered where else you lived to speak on the contrasting differences and consistancies from place to place...

While I agree with you in part I must say that the majority of Outright haters reside on the East(50cent and Company is a prime example) and only a Handfull of the NYC scene(not just talking about the rappers look at the Dj's and hell the fans on this site)embraces the rest of us nationwide...

As far as being a melting pot it is not while it is true the area is a huge and highly populous mosaic the cultures are fiercely seperate from one another and thus not a melting pot. Example the pueto ricans beef with the dominicans who also beef with the haitians who in turn beef with the jamaicans who cannot stand the italians who hate the irish and the circle of distinct seperations goes on and on through the different cultures and communities but you get the point.

WHile in the South In Chicago and Cali it seems everyone assimilates more into one culture, We have Teriyaki Burger and Taco Shops out here can get Greek Mexican Hybrid Dishes or irish Spanish mixed meals. For the most part everyone mixes together based on currency rather then ethnicity. In Raleigh I lived in apartments where Their were haitians Jamaicans Domincans Puerto Ricans Koreans Whites and Greeks Lived in large Numbers beause we were all basically Lower Middle Class.

From what I have seen and heard from NewYorkers shit is extremely Polarized and seperate and the only thing you kats tend to share as far a culture is your Love for being New yorkers and the seperations you Kats have kept for generations...
