Back to the thread topic at hand

New York Rap as far as Rakim, DJ Premier, Q Tip, Nas, Wu Tang etc is boring for the most part and hardly listened to

There are talented new comers on the scene like French Montana though but the problem is if French released an Album will New Yorkers actually go out and support the product or legally doanload it?

NOt all of NY but a large part of the Culture over their is on this overblown sense of hate for all that are not part of their circle in the culture...

So what are you saying then that all of them are Hateful to those outside their Circle? I Disagree I beleive it has been proven by actions that only a large part of those in the scene are hateful to those out side the the NY scene and a Handfull embrace and show Love to other places...

Catching Feelings Like a typical Culturally Ignorant New Yorker, I am Creole, Black, White and Native American right now I am Eating Gumbo Red beans and Rice as My Grandma is in Town and Cooking. WIll Go to A Salmon Smoke on the reservation next week with my cousins. The melting Pot Title of NYC is a lie as you kats are the most divided and divisive in the nation. The south is more of Melting Pot the west is definitely more of a melting potMost of NYC hates everyone else in the nation and then yall hate everybody in different Burroughs then Hate within the Burroughs those of different cultures...

genstasia;1632320 said:
Thats person to person... Neighboorhoods are divide because thats just how it works... but when ur in School u have no choice but to experience other cultures.... And to say NYC isnt a melting Pot is absurd in its fullest....

illogics;1632316 said:
Fazeem you ever lived or stayed in NY for any extended period of time? I'm just wondering where you get all your knowledge from.

Fazeem Blackall;1632359 said:
No My Grandrather Lived In harlem for about 10 years after Leaving New Orleans Before Moving out West. I have Quite a few Cousins who have moved back and FOrth between NYC and Seattle One Worked as a Nanny out there for 6 years. I have Lived In Raleigh, Cleveland, Salt lake LA And Seattle I have stayed for Periods in Atlanta Philly Miami Las Vegas Tampa Chicago Oakland Portland and Boston. Every place I have lived I have Known those from NYC I form My Position and Knowledge based from My Experiences with its Native Residents and My families Experiences there...

jamacia;1632370 said:
by that logic if you dont get spins on nyc radio=hate.

so by that same logic westcoast radio hated jadakiss because he hardly got played on the west.

Fazeem Blackall;1632406 said:
Who Lied to you about that? 1st Time I heard Kiss was on the Radio In LA and he got plenty of spins. Where have you lived out side of NY area? I speak on having lived or stayed in every corner and region in the country what about you???

jamacia;1632426 said:
i never heard anyone say fuck that dude because he's from ________ . i did remember skee lo getting hated on and tag team getting hate and quad city dj's getting hate and that was because they were garbage.

based on what kiss said on a song from 2004, he said why his buzz wasn't as big in cali as it is in new york

Fazeem Blackall;1632486 said:
His Buzz was not as Big in LA as it was IN New york But he still had a Buzz in LA which is more then Most westcoast artists of the same caliber could say about their own Buzz in NY. Kats Like Mac Mall, Spice 1, WC, Mack 10 and Coolio were Huge out west how Big did they get over their? how Many times did you hear anyonf them on the radio(Maybe Coolio cause of gangstas paradise) the shit does not seem to run Both ways with NYC and the rest of the nation. Also you never answered where else you lived to speak on the contrasting differences and consistancies from place to place...

jamacia;1632668 said:
there are artist that dont get spins on east coast radio that gets spins on the west coast and vice versa it doesn't mean there is hate for those cats , and why are you asking me where i lived?

Fazeem Blackall;1632729 said:
I know your not illiterate as the answer to your Question is in the original question and statements made. Your fear of reality and answering straight to the point shit is Laughable and sad. Now you can give context adn relevance to your position by a honest answer or you may further cemeent why your biases are as they are. Back to the artists I named you avoided that question also as the artist were not only huge here on the westcoast but they also had National Play through the Box and even Mtv in the 90's so answer how many did hyou hear on the radio out there...

jamacia;1632770 said:
and why is where i lived matters, when i never claimed i knew what was going on anywhere else except in my own backyard.

and when i mentioned jadakiss i said that was what jada himself said, which then led you to ask me where i lived.

i remember bone thugs getting spins in ny for 1st of tha month and crossroads but ny radio barely played any bone records unless biggie was featured on it. it doesnt mean ny hated bone. whenever bone does a show in ny they get mad love, when bone came to summer jam in 07 the crowd went crazy.

so if you still not getting my point i dont know what else to tell you.

Fazeem Blackall;1632799 said:
So you have resided in tristate area the majority of your life then Correct? I ask for scope for all when it comes to what you have to say on matters of hipHop in and out of it...

Fazeem Blackall;1632781 said:
While I agree with you in part I must say that the majority of Outright haters reside on the East(50cent and Company is a prime example) and only a Handfull of the NYC scene(not just talking about the rappers look at the Dj's and hell the fans on this site)embraces the rest of us nationwide...

jamacia;1632819 said:
oh okay then carry on. yes i lived in new jersey most of my life

hrap-120;1632896 said:
They are very clickish/clanish, they view boroughs similar to the way we do our hoods.

I was sickened by how one of the NY'rs used a racially insensitive remark towards you "go milk a camel", as if your swarthy complexion and facial hair would somehow indicate that you were from the middle-east or a desert bedouin. NY hatred toward a brother.

The strongest hatred that has ever existed in HipHop is the divisive and disgusting hatred of 50Cent. 50Cent at his peak could have unified NY HipHop after selling 8 million records yet he chose to beef with all the major NY artists...he has since made a name for himself by dissing his own members of G-Unit (Game-WestCoast) & (Young Buck South) a truly despicable human being.

Most recently the violent and Timberland-footed New-Jersians have been attacking Haitians! ...just like they did Tupac.

Further Irony my creole Bloodline I can trace its roots to Haiti amongst other locations...

Fazeem Blackall;1634018 said:
As far as being a melting pot it is not while it is true the area is a huge and highly populous mosaic the cultures are fiercely seperate from one another and thus not a melting pot. Example the pueto ricans beef with the dominicans who also beef with the haitians who in turn beef with the jamaicans who cannot stand the italians who hate the irish and the circle of distinct seperations goes on and on through the different cultures and communities but you get the point.

WHile in the South In Chicago and Cali it seems everyone assimilates more into one culture, We have Teriyaki Burger and Taco Shops out here can get Greek Mexican Hybrid Dishes or irish Spanish mixed meals. For the most part everyone mixes together based on currency rather then ethnicity. In Raleigh I lived in apartments where Their were haitians Jamaicans Domincans Puerto Ricans Koreans Whites and Greeks Lived in large Numbers beause we were all basically Lower Middle Class.

From what I have seen and heard from NewYorkers shit is extremely Polarized and seperate and the only thing you kats tend to share as far a culture is your Love for being New yorkers and the seperations you Kats have kept for generations...

Just throwin out what I have said versus the Eastcoast/Tristate Spins against my points and how most of the time instead of responding with facts they go for hate or derail with tangents and avoid the facts or their lack of legitimate rebuttle...

So? I know many niggas from The South. So you know what I'm gonna do? I'm going to form an opinion of their respective states based on the thoughts or actions of a handful of people. Sound good?...lol, yall niggas man. You yourself never stepped a foot in NY. You don't like NY so you're creating your own illusion to live in instead of seeing the real. Niggas aint up here with screw faces on some fuck the South shit. They too busy bumpin Jeezy, Ross, Drake, Gucci etc.

Stop with the bullshit fam.
I have plenty of love for some of NY why you keep half ass quoting and spinning shit trying to twist a point because what I said is not what your arguing. I stand By the statement and my source for making it a large portion of the HipHop scene on the east/NYC is not accepting of the rest of the nation whether south west or midwest only a handfull of your artists and dejays really embrace anything outside of the tristates. I know that from the NEwyorkers I and my family have met now where else besides the tristate have you lived? Your scope is limited by your own Biases Look at my top 40 and you know I got love for some New York just not you divisive twisting spinning haters that cannot answer shit straight because it would expose your hate and biases...

French Montana, Max B, Vado, Juelz Santana etc are the future of NY but NY doesn't support them

Some NYC Backpackers get stuck on bullshit like Slaughterhouse

Look at Bobby Ray a talanted Artist from Atlanta who just makes amazing Music sure Bobby Ray isn't gonna ramble on about Pyramids in Egypt and life on Mars and the universe like a Nas would but he makes great MUsic you can enjoy and vibe to but the South supported him so you have to respect the South for having good taste in Music and giving these youngsters a chance

Fam, you can't tell me my scope is limited and ask me have I ever lived outside the tri-state when you claim to have superior knowledge of a place you've never been. It's that simple.
