georgia boi;2989003 said:Ice Cube, Pac, Public Enemy, and Eminem are definitely up there. I think Cube easily got this though. Other honorable mentions:
Nas- caused a stir within the Hip Hop community by naming his album Hip Hop Is Dead, caused more controversy with Nigger, the Jesus line from "Live At The BBQ" was controversial, O'reilly attacked him for "Shoot 'Em Up", there's the "I'm like Sadaam Hussein looking at his dead grand children's burnt remains" was controversial back in '03, Summer Jam '02, the XXL cover of him burning the different magazine covers

Controversy
In 1992, as a result of the album's controversy, the state of Oregon declared any display of Ice Cube's image in retail stores throughout the state illegal. This ban also included advertisements for St. Ides Malt Liquor, which Ice Cube endorsed at the time.[22] In the September 2006 issue of FHM, Ice Cube stated in an interview that he did not regret the controversial statements made on the album. Regarding the offense caused to Koreans, he said, "If there's still a problem, it's their problem."[citation needed] Due to fear that laws against racial incitement in the United Kingdom could see the album banned, the United Kingdom release removed the tracks "Black Korea" and "No Vaseline." Island Records, the distributor of this version of the album, deleted these tracks with the consent of Priority Records, but not Ice Cube himself.

Ice Cube, Death Certificate
When Ice Cube broke from NWA to go solo, his 1991 album carried on the tradition of controversy. The cover, showing Uncle Sam on a mortuary gurney (a visual metaphor for the death of the American dream?) and his various intolerant and violent songs led to condemnations in US Billboard magazine, widespread retail boycotts, and, in Oregon, an official statewide ban on displaying the rapper's image in retail shops.

50Cent is the most harmless man in HipHop.
He's signed to Emenim and Jimmy Iovine so the shackles are in place, he has never spoke truth to power or put his neck on the line by going at a segment of the establishment. His entire career has been built around tearing other Black men down, he could never be controversial because he lacks the testicular fortitude to embrace his own culture.
50cent is a generic rapper who showed his true nature on the album "Curtis".....

NWA
2Pac
Eminem
50 Cent
Suge Knight
Snoop
Without Dre we wouldn't even have Eminem, 50, or Snoop for sure and you can make a case that Death Row wouldn't be Death Row without Dr. Dre
