so 17 years, 6 albums, and plenty of guest verses wouldn't equal a double album? shit that's only 20 something songs on a double album...it doesn't take much to fill that up...

6 albums?

Southernplayalistic - carried by Big Boi
ATLiens - split
Aquemini - split even though Dre doesnt rap on every track
Stankonia - carrried by Big Boi and guests cuz Dre doesnt rap on every track
Speakerboxxx/ Love Below - a cd of Big Boi rapping and a cd of Dre singing

Dre is a great lyricist who uses scarcity to make himself more valuable. The number of 16s he's spit in his career is laughable when compared to other emcees in the top 10 (other than BIG). I'm a quality over quantity fan, but Jay and Nas have more than 400 songs each where they're spitting 2-3 16's per song.

Under no circumstances am I putting somebody with such a light body of work over them.

i think majority wise it's safe to say:

top 5 - hell no

top 10 - questionable

top 20 - definitely

top 20 based on his catalog with kast is something i could live with

I'll give you Southerplayalistic and Speakerboxxx, but you're gonna sit here and tell us Dre didn't outshine Big Boi on them other albums? And you act like Royal Flush never existed, where he shitted on Big Boi AND Raekwon. And how about the interlude on C4? Face it, his solo catalogue may not be up there, but put him against ANY rapper. Even if he doesn't outshine them, it'll be damn close.

I'm not talking about ranking in that post, that's a matter of personal opinion... I simply think you need to do some better math if you think Dre doesn't have enough verses to make up a double cd...I know for a fact you're wrong because I have mixes of Andre's music that takes up 4-5 cd's on it's own and that's only the songs I chose to put on those mix's...

dude is nice with it........he doesnt have a set standard to his lyricism, almost like a more poetical version of biggie.....he can do all of that, but he doesnt display it on a consistent basis...........

while dre isnt as consistent as like a jay or a nas, you can argue that skillfully he up there with them, when he wants to be........you could put him on a track with all of the greats and he will hold his own.......I never heard dre say no wack shit.......

I'mma up north nigga btw.....I know region matters to a lot of yall

we all know wayne didn't progress from verses like "Na, na, na, na, na / After you back it up, then stop / Then wha-wha-what / Dro-drop it like it's hot" to what he is now all by himself. A lot of other men's pens, flows and beats got him there no doubt.

Jay + Dre + Juelz + Gillie + Currensy + Drake + Shanell = Wayne

Now Suzy Skrew had a partna named Sasha (Sasha), Thumper (Thumper)

I remember her number like the summer

when her and Suzy yeah they threw a slumber - - party

but you can not call it that cause it was slummer

Well it was more like spend the night

Three in the morning yawnin dancin under street lights

We chillin like a villain and a nigga feelin right

in the middle of the ghetto on the curb, but in spite

all of the bullshit we on our back starin at the stars above

(aww man) Talkin bout what we gonna be when we grow up

I said what you wanna be, she said, "Alive" (hmm)

It made me think for a minute, then looked in her eyes

I coulda died, time went on, I got grown

Rhyme got strong, mind got blown, I came back home

to find lil Sasha was gone

Her mamma said she with a nigga that be treatin her wrong

I kept on singin my song and hopin at a show

that I would one day see her standin in the front row

But two weeks later she got found in the back of a school

With a needle in her arm, baby two months due, Sasha Thumper

[Verse One: Andre]

Yeah

Oh yes I love her like Egyptian, want a description, my royal highness

So many plusses when I bust that there can't be no minus

Went from yellin crickets and crows, bitches and hoes to queen thangs

Over the years I been up on my toes and yes I seen thangs

like Kilroy, chill boi because them folks might think you soft

talkin like that, man fuck them niggaz I'm goin off

and comin right back, like boomerangs when you throw em

With these old ghetto poems, Bankhead is better for em

When they can let they throw em, down from hitchikin and bitin niggaz

until the temple they call the body, now everybody got it

Had it, talked about it amongst they friends

Comin around my crew lookin Jazzy, wanna pretend

like you Ms. Goodie, Four-Shoes, even Bo knew, that you got poked

like accupuncture patients while our nation is a boat

Straight sinkin, I hate thinkin that these the future mommas

of our chillun, they fuckin a different nigga every time

they get the feelin to, I'm willin to go the extra kilo-meter

just to see my senorita get her pillow

on the side of my bed where no good ever stay

House and doctor was the games we used to play

but now it's real Jazzy Belle...

Andre 3000:]

We work nights, we some vampires

Niggas gather round the beat like a campfire

Singin' folk songs, but not no Kumbaya my Lord

You download it for free, we get charged back for it

I know you're saying, they won't know they won't miss it

Besides, I ain't a thief, they won't pay me a visit

So if I come to your job, take your corn on the cob

And take a couple kernels off it that would be alright with you

Hell no! Yeah, exactamundo

But we just keep recording and it ain't to get no condo

And Candy Bentley fanny with no panties in Miami

And that cute lil' chick named Tammy that you took to the Grammys

See we do it for that boi that graduated

That looked you in your eyes real tough and said 'preciate it

And that he wouldn'ta made it if it wasn't for your CD number 9

And he's standing with his baby momma Kiki and she cryin' talkinbout

That they used to get high to me in high school

And they used to make love to me in college

Then they told me 'bout they first date, listenin' to my tunes

And how he, like to finger nail polish

I say hate to cut you off but I gotta go

I wish you could tell me mo' but I'm off to the studio, gotta write tonight

Hey, can you put us in your raps? I don't see why not

Devin it's the Dude you gon' probably hear him talking 'bout

[Verse Three: Andre Benjamin]

Synthesizer, microwave me

Give me a drug so I can make seven babies

Pump my breasts up, can you suck the fat up

Please make my life appear

like ain't no such thing as bad luck

My, nose ain't right

Like I need a new one

Just take your pick, a yellow red

A black or a blue one

Virtual reality, virtual, BULLSHIT

Synthesizer preachers can reach you

up in the pulpit

Who a bitch?

Give me my gat so I can smoke this nigga

Tell his mamma not to cry

because they can clone him quicker

than it took his daddy to make him

Niggaz bitin verbatim

Thought provokin records radio never played dem

Instant, quick grits, new, improved

Hurry hurry, rush rush, world on the move

Marijuana illegal but ciggarettes cool

I might LOOK kinda funny but I ain't no fool

Now if you wanna synthesize I emp-athize

Now if you wanna synthesize I emp-athize

But if you synthesize I will understand

your synthesizer man
