Real men will admit that at one time in their lives they played the "ain't shit" role. Most of us "ain't shit" because THERE IS NO INCENTIVE TO BE ANYTHING MORE.

Women however love to pretend that they ain't never done bad in their entire lives. Or they downplay it like "oh it was a one time thing" when it really wasn't. All women yes 100% of women believe that they are "innocent" or "good". The problem is that we all know there is no such thing as AN ABSOLUTE 100%. this shit should be common knowledge cuz it's part of world history and it's sad more people don't know but...the Dominican Republic has a history that is unique to it's own country just like all other latino countries, but in reference to DR specifically read up their former ruler Trujillo...though he was part Hatian himself, he carried a deep hatred for anybody that's darker than let's say Trey Songz...pretty much during his reign if you were any darker than that you were considered Hatian even if you were born and raised in DR and this could mean your life being lost...people were actually killed for no other reason than their skin being considered too dark, others were ostracized by their families...he was so hated the celebrate the day of his death not because he was a good ruler but because people were so happy that he was no longer in power...you do that enough and it will ingrain a deep fear in people and a dislike for dark skin because that is what was being specifically targeted...that's also why you don't find it as much in some younger Dominicans because their families have either left DR or they have gotten out of that mentality...as far as Dominicans not calling themselves black that's actually more the fault of Americans, black americans, than anything else automatically trying to equate being black with being African American and not considering anything else 'black" and seemingly not being too aware that there's more black people in South America and the Caribbean than anywhere else other than Africa....

im in agreement with you on this post my dude...hell just last night me and my girl were having a conversation about the importance of having BOTH parents in a child's life and she told me that she noticed from seeing me around my father that alot of the little things I do, holding doors open, walking on the outside of the curb, etc. she can tell that I got from him and I told her it's stuff I picked up from just watching my father, not even him telling me "this is what you do as a man" but from literally seeing him do it I knew that if I wanted to be a man then that's what I had to do...i needed a man to show how to behave, act, and think like a man...as far as why young dudes choose to be thugs it's mainly because, IMO, that's the image that girls respond to...you can see how some dudes just think it's soft to be anything other than the "nigga on the block"...look at how niggas think it's gay to listen to R&B music, look at how R&B singers are talking about the same shit as rappers now (niggas singing about being in the club is always funny to me)...the image of the "average man" isn't respected so young men try to recreate this larger than life persona they see on tv...if people stopped responding to it then it would change
