Dreicer did not work on her case, but said under Florida law, after Stand Your Ground was dismissed and she was convicted, Alexander is looking at a mandatory minimum sentence of 20 years.

For firing a warning shot into the ceiling of her own house? WTF? She would have gotten less time if she killed him.

Seems like she argued, left the room, came back, and fired off a shot:
“The defendant had split seconds to decide if she was in fear for her life and ultimately the judge found that there were other things she could have done like leave the residence through a front door or a back door,” said defense attorney Jesse Dreicer.

when the alleged incident occured, Marissa said she was about to leave her abusive husband when he confronted her in the bathroom and began to choke her. She wrote that she ran but while in the garage she realized she couldn't open the garage doors because of a mechanical failure and she had also forgotten her phone and keys. Trapped, she allegedly went back to retrieve them, thinking he had already left because he was on his way out with her two stepsons.

Again, according to Marissa, he did not leave but came back minus the children and shouted, "Bitch, I will kill you!" She said he charged towards her, so she took out the gun she had taken from her truck and fired a warning shot towards the ceiling. so doesn't Stand Your Ground stipulate that one can stand their ground and use deadly force if they felt threatened or feared for their life and do not have to retreat?

the ex-hubby allegedly told police that she had tried to kill him and the children, and obviously they took his word over hers. Even though marissa had a restraining order and a filed police complaint of spousal abuse. smdh. crazy part is even though her husband recanted and admitted he was the aggressor, the State still proceeded with the case. and now he has created a website to get the word out, fighting to free her.

florida is got chere losing.... she gets 20 yrs in prison for firing a shot into the ceiling of her own house ...but than zimmerman was initially absolved of killing someone... shit is ridiculous

but the same incidentally the State Prosecutor now on Trayvon Martin's case, Angela Corey, also handled Marissa's case so maybe she'll go after zimmerman just as hard... no homo. doubt it though

So she says she got choked--while she had the gun on her--and chose to flee, but when she got to the garage she couldn't get out, then she decided to fire off a shot the next time she saw him?

Either she didn't feel her life was in danger enough for her to fire off a shot while be choked, or she got the gun while "fleeing":

well from i read she didn't have the gun on her when he initially choked her... lol.

but yea shame on her for arming herself just in case her husband had not left the house which she had no real way of knowing one way or another at the time....

shame on her for trying to retrieve the rest of her things so she could leave and call the police, she just should've stayed trapped in her garage. with no phone or way out... right???

shame on her for using an incredible amount of restraint in the face of danger.. when she could've just killed him

yep fiat she deserves 20 yrs of prison ...

Not matching up.

Conspiracy is the last refuge of scoundrels.

Just face it. This narrative of him not showing any injuries was due to irrational skepticism that has now been been proven to be misguided.

After watching the bail hearing today, I'm convinced that Zimmerman will get off and given all the evidence he should. I guess he was just supposed to let little Trayvon beat his head in the ground until he became a vegetable.

Given innocent Trayvon's past and just going based on his facebook, he seemed like your typical wannabe thug and I'll let you guys in on a secret for why the racial divide exists as it relates to people opinion on this. While no one thinks someone should just shoot anyone without cause, which is seeming more and more not to be the case here, most non-black people are tired of these thuggish obnoxious wannabe gangstas and quite frankly its hard to shed a tear when they end up dead. Some people might count it as a blessing. These type of people usually don't contribute anything to society and more times than not drag it down. Hard to shed a tear for people like that.

Isn't it a coincidence that every time one of these "tragedies" occur within the black community, the supposed victim always seems to be sketchy or issues in their past that make them unsavory. Rodney King was drunk off his ass, assaulted and running from police when he got beat. He also couldn't keep himself out of jail. Yet people outside of the black race is supposed to cry for this refuse of society?

Oh yeah remember the duke lacross case. Another case where everyone was wetting their pants ITS A TRAGEDY! DAS RACIST! and it turned out the lying skank just doing what she did best...lying and being a skank. Tawana Brawley too. Seems to be a pattern.

I love it.

Zimmerman apologized, which is a very sketchy move when you are pleading not guilty... My guess is his lawyer is setting the moves for plea bargain.

Word, her problem is that she did "flee" from the perceived threat, but then she returned--with a gun--and fired off a shot.

That bitch played herself:

when the alleged incident occured, Marissa said she was about to leave her abusive husband when he confronted her in the bathroom and began to choke her.

Her husband supposedly ran away then and called the police.

the now ex-hubby allegedly told police that she had tried to kill him and the children, and obviously they took his word over hers. Even though marissa had a restraining order and a filed police complaint of spousal abuse. smdh

and same as zimmerman marissa had a gun permit so doesn't Stand Your Ground stipulate that one can stand their ground and use deadly force if they felt threatened or feared for their life and do not have to retreat?

florida is got chere losing.... if she gets 25 yrs for firing a shot into the ceiling of her own house ...but than zimmerman gets off for killing someone... i will be the first to storm into my local best buy bat in hand. lol... shit is ridiculous

The point of stand your ground is that you don't have a duty to flee to defend your self...

Dreicer did not work on her case, but said under Florida law, after Stand Ynour Ground was dismissed and she was convicted, Alexander is looking at a mandatory minimum sentence of 20 years.

For firing a warning shot into the ceiling of her own house? WTF? She would have gotten less time if she killed him.
Seems like she argued, left the room, came back, and fired off a shot:
“The defendant had split seconds to decide if she was in fear for her life and ultimately the judge found that there were other things she could have done like leave the residence through a front door or a back door,” said defense attorney Jesse Dreicer.

right....

she was trapped in her garage and wanted to arm herself before entering back into the house to retrieve the rest of her things including her phone so she could get in her car and leave.... soon as she entered into the kitchen which was connected to the garage her husband who was waiting than lunged at her and thats when she fired a warning shot.... what else was she suppose to do? just sit in the garage and wait for him to possibly choke her again ...or worst...

she couldn't call the police from the garage cuz she didn't have a phone...

but yea the case is total bullshit... she killed no one ... 20 yrs is entirely too excessive and thats an understatement... especially considering the fact the 'stand your ground' law was recently cited by a judge in miami florida to absolve a man of any wrong doing when he chased a down a thief and stabbed him to death ....why does this law protect him but not her?

shit is too vague and open to interpretation ....
