I'm canceling that Amazon order and I been looking at the prices of them EOTech sights that blak is talking about and truthfully, i refuse to pay the same price I paid for this gun just to purchase a specific brand optic sight for it. On top of that, these ain't just the commercial knock off variants, these are that military/law enforcement issued type of shit. I respect what blak is saying but the same price I paid for my gun is the same price I have to pay for my optic? I'll pass and just look for something half as similar but for a more reasonable price, shit.

that's pretty common tho........not unheard of to see a $2K rifle with a $2K scope

this is ur 1st AR so I would just focus on iron sights.........but once u later spend that $500 or so on ur red dot sight it will last for years to where it would be worth it........besides if u later decided to get a better AR ie. a Colt, Daniel Defense, or choose to custom build ur own, the ruggedness of a milspec optic will allow u to put the optic on the new rifle with no issues

with those cheaper sights u are just really counting down the time until it breaks

Haha man it sounds wild but you really gotta be ready to drop a dime on optics. A gun ain't really shit if you can't aim it. Like blak said people pay as much for scopes as they do on rifles. My buddy dropped a dime on a DPMS in .243 (don't ask why) and then bought a $1400 Burris 4x14. He's shot it maybe 50 times. I should just buy it from him.

In parts of the state (MN) where rifles are legal .223 is the smallest legal caliber.
ahhh

here in MD it's shotgun or bust (or black powder/bow shit, i guess) unless you want to go out west and shoot deer with a manly caliber

for ur 1st AR....stay with the iron sights bruh
cosign ahoy

and i will say that in the modern era, you probably don't have to kill yourself cleaning your guns... but i was always raised to clean them after you shoot them, so like a maniac, i always do

on the other hand: "buy once, cry once"

there are some decent lower-priced brands, but remember, if you buy a crazy expensive EoTech or Aimpoint, you can always use it on multiple guns/future guns. and if you use it a lot that cost will seem less and less severe

disclaimer: i have spent very little money on optics because i tend to spend it on crazy-ass guns, many of which are not exactly designed for optics.

just don't ask me what i spent for KAC iron sights for an SBR build i am working on, ugh

^^Has to be more quite than using the regular flash muzzle bruh

What you think about the Barska brands? The dealer I bought the gun from sells them, I don't think they in the business of selling low quality shit, I think this M&P 15 they sold me is of high quality even tho I paid way under a $1,000 for it.

I always thought guys who needed a 300 win mag and 7mm rem mag to shoot deer were over compensating for something lolzzz

Any of you ever used a suppressor? How much quieter is the gun?
not QUIET but you're talking about much safer levels of noise, which is why they're somehow acceptable in Europe

probably going to try and do one for 9mm/45 handgun shooting before July gets here

ha, no, i get that

one of my grandfathers was from MN and he absolutely hunted deer with a fucking .22 LR when he was a kid (though he also randomly used a .32 WS and a .44-40 at different times, so hey)

it's still a lower-end optic, it's just not the cheapest shit

i personally haven't ever dropped real money on a red dot or anything else; everything i have done is something like a PA product or was just part of a package deal: bought the gun, guy threw in the optic, it was whatever

for how you shoot the Barska may be totally fine. it's really just a question of if you'll want something better in short order, in which case you might just want to buy that now and save time, if that makes sense

omg! So i shot my .270 and its shooting like 6 inches to the right at 200 yards! wtf!?! I hadn't shot it in a while since I didn't hunt a rifle zone this year but I find this deeply disturbing. What could be the cause for this? The barrel isn't that dirty, I don't have recollection of banging the scope on anything at all.

yeah... but clean and re-zero and go from there. things DO get bumped.

Think I should just run a few patches down the barrel or do the whole copper brush thing? Barrel maintenance seriously scares me.

honestly, i probably overclean but if it was me, i'd be brushing after every time i shoot. but... i probably overclean.

any chance your barrel is just making its way toward being shot out?

I haven't put more than 200 rounds through it. MOA groups at 100 were a piece of cake not too long, I can't imagine the barrel deteriorating that quickly instead of a gradual decrease in accuracy.

Been looking at them Vortex sights Will put me on about on YouTube, can't even lie them shits look good as hell. Thinking bout copping that Spitfire 1x with that big ass circle dot reticle from Optics Planet and I think I'm good with the upgrades. Already got the black Magpul M-Lok vertical grip and a new black MOE K2+ pistol grip coming in tomorrow to complete all my furniture upgrades, all I need left is the B.A.D. lever and the optic and I'm good. Not a gun enthusiasts but stepping into this rifle world feels like it can definitely be addicting with all the money I done spent on these upgrades, shit.

It's a good thing they make those tools to be able to adjust them A2 front sights, finally made an attempt at trying to see how to raise and lower the front sight last night with a bullet tip just for the experience and l immediately gave up on that shit once I realized how difficult it is

All black everything bruhs, can already feel the comfort level when holding, going hit the range tomorrow morning fa sho, all I need left is the B.A.D. lever and a optic
