My gun brethen, think I'm bout to cop this S & W M&P 15-22 Sport II over the weekend, was gonna cop the regular M&P 15-22 but that shit only shoots .22 caliber and I want that real military, knock a nigga head off type shit.
just S&W M&P-15. the 15-22s are always the "tactical .22" rifles. which are fun for plinking and all.

ZydecoShawty;8867281 said:
Only downside is I'm gonna have to buy the picatinny rail so I can add a grip to it unlike that M&P Sport I that already comes with that shit included. Any thoughts on this gun?
perfectly decent base AR. nothing wrong with it and if you get a good price, enjoy. even without rails or anything else tactical, you should enjoy it. have known a few people with S&W ARs and they've had no issues.

Just checking out the prices of these handguns, shit damn near cost the same as these fucking AR's. Since that's the case, man, fuck a handgun, I live in Texas too.
depends on what you want to do with the gun. but i WILL say not to be put off by the price of a handgun if it's a good quality handgun, as there's always cheaper options out there, but they may have their own failings.

I plan on being ALOT more active with this firearm this time around janklow, the last time I owned a handgun I didn't even hit the gun range with it one time before I sold it back to the gun dealer I originally bought from, I was highly misinformed about guns and gun laws period back then.

Shit was back in like 05-06 tho, a nigga 34 now and I did my Googles on Texas gun laws and to me they appear more lenient on rifles than handguns, and like I said, considering the price of these handguns I might as well just grab the ultimate rifle instead and just trick it out to my liking (grips, red beam, red dot or scope, etc, etc).

Damn bruh, they wouldn't let me cop that MP 15 today cause the address on my drivers license isn't the same as my current address. But I got to hold that MP 15 and I was intimidated by the weight of that shit, I didn't know it was that heavy. I can already tell it's gonna take me some time getting used to firing that thing.

what did you get at the time? did you not like it or just not ever have time to do anything with it?

gun laws are typically more lenient on long guns for a variety of reasons. all depends on what you want the gun for. but i say this as someone who's obviously in the "just keep buying more guns" camp.

there's stuff you can do in the "tricking out" vein that will take the weight down some, but when you're firing .223 and saying "wait, there's like no recoil here," you'll see the upside to it.

It was a 9mm, I think it was a Smith & Wesson, it had that slide back hammer to load, I liked it, i guess at that time I didn't feel ready to handle a gun and I felt I bought it for the wrong reasons. I didn't even take it to the gun range once to see how it handles.

@blakfyahking I'm not going to act like I know alot about optics because I don't but I just perfect the iron sight. It's just what I been taught and what I know. I'm not even saying that optics aren't better then iron sights because they are just I have a dislike for them. Thought when shooting 300+ meters gladly use a red dot

I finally got the rifle this morning and picked up 2 American Eagle .223 20 round cartridges with it, prolly gonna hit the range tomorrow or Friday (someday this week) but right now I'm just practicing how to load & chamber and unload & unchamber the rifle while getting used to the charging handle & bolt lock function (while the safety lock is engaged by the way). Need a quad rail, vertical grip, and carrying bag ASAP to go with this shit.

It crazy how little a .223 kicks. I was shooting my .270 which isn't the worst recoiling caliber but it is a little sharp, then went to my buddies .223 I was like what the fuuuuuuuck did it even go off?

You know what, I'm replacing this stock handguard, stock grip, and this butt stock with that Magpul rubber material, polymer shit, I can already tell this stock material shit is gonna end up irritating the palms of my hands.

struck me as funny because this is either a ton of S&Ws or something i cannot even think of but if it was a Sigma, you might be better off.

nothing wrong with that, just curious, really

oh man, wait until you're shooting it and you're like "fuck buying any accessories when i can buy more ammo and shoot this more"

yeah, the thing i always get are the people who don't want to shoot that big, mean rifle first, but would rather shoot a snappy, tiny handgun, and then get to the AR and are like "...wait, what?!"

Do any of ya'll wear gloves when shooting? I think i'm bout to cop some baseball gloves to protect my hands for the time being til I replace out all of this stock shit.

yes: SKD PIG FDTs

Mechanix makes some respectable gloves as well if you want to be more price-conscious

Some of them Mechanix gloves look pretty good but I done copped some Under Armour batting gloves for around the same price and I think they look better, Academy done became one of my new favorite stores, they sell 5.56 calibers for the low too

as long as they're comfortable, that's what matters

I hate shooting with gloves. Even when it's cold as shit I try to get my right hand out of my glove if possible, even when I'm shotgunning.

Put a .50 yard zero on my AR today. Adjusting the turrets was kind of a bitch knowing how many clicks i had moved it. Not amazing groupings but when I was dialed in 1/3 shots would go in the quarter sized area I was aiming at. I probably could use a smaller bullet to get something a little flatter but I think 62 grn federal fusion MSR will be good if I ever wanna shoot deer or hogs.

I put a beer bottle I found out there at 144 yards and hit that sumbitch with my 50 yard zero so that was nice.

Uhhhh, translation for the new gun owners of the world?

anyway

I changed out the hand guard and buttstock on my AR-15 for that Magpul brand stuff and man, that shit makes holding the rifle WAY more comfortable.

Yo, i don't know why ya'll say .223 caliber don't produce any recoil? I shot that shit in my AR today and that shit was still jumping. I had perfect sights aligned before I pulled the trigger and yet my bullets were still pulling to the left in a indoor range for some reason? What was i doing wrong?
