Those spoilers don't seem to be actual spoilers. They seem to be speculation.

I don't think Vegeta is out of it. It seems like he figured something out and was about to let Trunks in on it, but Zamasu's arrival interrupted him. I think it's setting him up to kinda save the day or at least reset the fight. I think in the end we'll probably see Vegeta vs Goku Black and Goku vs Zamasu.

One thing that Toriyama has really sucked at is creating villains that can let the whole case shine. Look at something like Naruto. Naruto completely outclassed the rest of his contemporaries for a most of the end of the manga, but they were still relevant because the story was set up so that there was something of impact to keep them occupied while Naruto played hero. The same thing goes with Fairy Tail. In the end, Natsu will always save the day, but the story does a good job of giving everyone good fights and a role in the overall victory. Toriyama never does that. He always sets it up with one big villain that fodderizes most of the cast and then has to be beaten by Goku in the end. His idea of giving another character some shine was letting Vegeta take an ass whooping long enough for Goku to power up the Spirit Bomb to kill Kid Buu, but only after revealing that Goku probably could have done it solo had he not wanted to let Vegeta have a shot.

I agree the team aspect is virtually non-existent in dragon ball nowadays. The best arcs focus on the team aspect and characters having something to do and not just being fodder.

Vegeta however is fodder. Dude a jobber to the stars. I saw one guy say he's sort of the measuring stick of the show, he's never that far behind in power so you do get a sense that the enemy is strong as fuck if they wreck Vegeta.

He ain't fodder because fodder characters never accomplish anything. None of the major enemies since Cell would have been beaten if not for Vegeta.

Cell - it was Vegeta's attack on Super Perfect Cell that allowed Gohan to get the upper hand in their power struggle.

Kid Buu - Vegeta was the one that kept Buu occupied while Goku powered up the Spirit Bomb.

Beerus - Goku couldn't have even gone SSG without Vegeta and the others.

G Freiza - Vegeta saved Goku and beat Freiza down before having to in turn be saved by Whis and Goku.

Hit - Goku was able to figure out Hit's technique and formulate a plan due to the hint from the Elder Kai and watching Vegeta's fight.

So Vegeta's presence is pretty important. He just never gets to be winner via victory in a fight.

Fairy Tale does it way better than DBS and Naruto by miles. Fairy tale allows everyone to Shine equally while allowing Natsu to do his thing.

Most fans believed that Zamasu will help Son Goku and his friends to beat Black Goku but it seems like the Immortal God is helping the new enemy instead

and honestly at the end of the episode when dude said "I will kill you Son Goku"...that was the first time in a while a villain said that and I legitimately had concern for Goku's health. They've done a good job making everything mysterious and making Vegeta and Goku seem like underdogs.

sidenote: I want Trunks to end this...this is his timeline they came into and fucked up... he deserves to finish it
