It seems like they are mixing DB and DBZ a little. DB was heavy on the humor with some fights mixed in. DBZ is was the opposite. DBS is somewhere in the middle.

I think it's better that way. DB has always been goofy, so it's good to keep it light between the major fights.

Shit isn't nearly as big a deal as ya'll are making it seem, and that shit goes away when fights actually start anyway. The humor in DBS is way better than the shit in other shows like One Piece and Naruto, at least to me.

Everybody's been low-key treating Goku about not having that killer instinct, especially Whis, when he had to rewind time after Frieza blew up Earth. Vegeta bucked at him multiple times about acting like a bitch instead of a real Saiyan, Piccolo when Cell was whooping on Gohan, Goku should've been got ignant on somebody lol.

All of them could've done what they planned to do, they just got greedy and tried to do too much. I think some people are missing the point with the DBZ villains.

Freiza didn't sandbagged for a couple reasons. For one, the thought of someone being more powerful than him was inconceivable, so he felt no need to go all out from the beginning. More importantly though, he didn't have good control of his full power, so he stayed away from using it. In both fights, Goku didn't beat Freiza because he was more powerful or more skilled. He beat Freiza by outlasting him. Freiza wasn't able to maintain his full capabilities long enough to kill Goku.

Cell's whole purpose was to prove that he a superior being. It wouldn't have made sense for him to kill off enemies before they were at their strongest. I'm not really sure how people don't understand that. It was pretty much the entire motivation behind the Cell games. In fact, outside of proving his superiority over the Z warriors, we don't even know if he had any other motivation.
