Just curious, but what about that was bad writing to you?
The power level discrepancies leading up to this tournament is complete bullshit.

What discrepancies? I mean overall, seems like the Z warriors are weaker in this series, but I don't really get what about that spoiler makes you bring up bad writing. If you just accept that they've dialed the power back a big in this series, you can't really claim bad writing every time that pops up.

I didn't make an excuse for the discrepancies. I just pointed out that it's been pretty clear from the beginning of the series that they've dialed back the power levels. It's fair to think that was a bad move. However, with that already being established, you can't point to every single instance of that going forward as bad writing. At this point, it is what it is. It would be bad writing for them to arbitrarily jump back to how things were portrayed in DBZ.

Personally, as someone who has been watching since DB, the new series disappointing because they took all of the previous lore and diminished it. Frieza Saga was real. Cell saga was real. Buu saga was kinda silly at times, but it made sense. Now all of a sudden ss3 aint shit? ss2 aint shit? All of the figuring out the intricacies of the super saiyan form during the Cell saga doesnt mean shit now? Beerus didnt sense Cell but he sensed frieza dying? Hohan is an amateur now? I cant rock with any of that.

You're free to have an opinion on the show. I can't knock you for that, but nothing you said about the Saiyan forms is correct. If this tournament showed us anything, it's that the Goku and Vegeta are damn near the strongest people in two universes based off those SS forms alone. They've tried to drive home that the big benefit of the god form isn't even raw power. It's the fact that they can use it without the strain and stamina drain that are intrinisc to the normal SSJ forms. That actually fits with the old series real well, since it was established multiple times that the SSJ forms were very taxing on them.
As for Cell, he was an Android, no one could really sense him. Not to mention Beerus had familiarity with Freiza. He knew nothing about Cell, so it's not crazy that he wouldn't have picked up on Cell's presence.

Korin sensed him and compared his Ki to Kakarot's, the Z fighters sensed him when he came back to life and Trunks sensed him in the future.
My problem with the transformations are, rushing straight into it without consequences. They get a new form that doesn't drain their energy or their stamina. Throughout the tournament they never even needed to use the form.
Power scaling in this series is real. Can't have a good fight without transforming. I'd say Hit wasn't even worth anything past SSJ2 but that's just me.
And Gohan losing his gi...

The whole point of walking around in Full Powered super saiyan form during the cell saga was to prevent the strain on their bodies but now thats contradictory? And they still go SSJ so that point is mute about stressing the fact that its still bad on them if they still use it.

Cell was able to be sensed though. So youre also wrong in that regard.

Yes, that was Goku's way of becoming more accustomed to the SSJ form, and even then it was only SSJ1. That didn't eliminate the strain or stamina drain, both of which are even worse for SSJ2 and SSJ3. And yes they still go SSJ, but they made it pretty clear in the tournament that they did that to sandbag. They didn't want to show the SSB form off too soon because they were worried about Hit. I'm really not getting your point about the SSJ forms to be honest. SSJ1 was enough to beat the shit out of everyone from universe 7. Hell, even Hit didn't seem to be more powerful than the normal SSJ forms, he just had a trick and an ability to learn fast that couldn't be beaten with the regular SSJ forms. But after Goku figured Hit out, he was taking attacks without even being powered up. Maybe we're just seeing things differently, but I don't see this series as putting down the other SSJ forms. Those forms would have beat everyone in the tournament but Hit.

Did you read the description of full powered super saiyan? They literally threw that out off the window and reintroduced as something else it like real fans wouldn't notice that bullshit. And they aren't doing super saiyan justice. There was no point in vegeta going SSB against cabba when he could have just finished him with literally any other "weaker" form of super saiyan. So he clearly went SSB too soon because Cabba didn't even know how to go ssj1 in the first place. Ain't no way after all the bullshit the Z warriors have been through that they need to show their trump card so soon.
