dog are you serious!!!???? Do you know anything about the music business? Ok biggie is suppose to tell the label who is shelling out the dough for his album that he is gonna pull back pre-record songs because the person he wrote them about is dead?? Dawg that makes no sense what so ever, and is no way speaking bad about the dead cuz it's called pre-recorded and YOU HAVE TO PUT YOUR ISH OUT ON A CERTAIN DATE per your label and record contract....so again Big was not speaking Ill of the dead...and sorry i dont speak to cease for any reason. so nothing Cease says has me writing anything on this board.

and aagain u make no sense according to you "if he told him dont hang with haitian jack, how come he cant tell em who shot him" ???? ahh he told Pac not to chill with dude cuz he (haitian jack) is shady, and the result of that is Pac getting shot. See how that works, Pac didnt want to listen, so why should big (for instance) need to further look out for dude, pac was a grown man, and didnt need nobody to hold his hand and why couldnt biggie not know? Again he stop hanging with dude so it's not like dude who gonna tell big what he was gonna do now..does that make sense?

again u have no proof big having anything to do with Pacs shooting..and what was just link a week ago about puff, and haitian jack. Dude never said big was involved..i'll let you figure the rest out..

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/War_with_God

Later, in SOHH.com's Pre VMA Interview, Ludacris responded to an interview question, "Man we heard, 'War With God' and when we heard it, [they said that you said] it was about you". Ludacris replied, "Man, somebody misquoted me talking about...they misquoted me saying it was about me. What I was telling them was that I devote a lot of information about myself, and I think they're taking that in. I'm not battling myself on the record, that's ridiculous. What happens is you got a lot of people taking subliminal shots, but nobody ever says my name. I'm not for sure, so that record is like my way of taking subliminal shots right back. Don't get it misquoted, don't get it messed up. That's basically what it is man. It's like, you know, like I said I do devote a lot of information about myself on there. I started to wreck it up by saying I'm the best, and there's nothing you could do about it. [They say] I've never done this I've never done that, so you know when you look into it, it's a lot more records where it comes from on the album, September 26, Release Therapy, where it's the most personal album I've done. It's nothing but honesty so you can criticize it all you want to but at the end of the day you got to respect it cause I'm coming straight from the heart. [I'm] just telling the truth, [and] that's all you gotta know.

..................................

and i never said you need to believe me over ludacris, i stated he did a subliminal diss that was directed towards T.I.P, (most ppl seen it that way) and if you listen and understand the situation at that time you would get he was dissing T.I., luda did say he was directing it towards anyone...so t.i. could be in that statement as well...so i'm not wrong in a sense.

you were wrong because u said luda said the song was about hisself, when in reality the album was about him, the diss song was directed towards other rappers..thankx

and there's nothing i'm getting mad at.....katz just be posting on here talking out their ass about sh*t A LOT!!

missing the point of everything i said

damn the irony of those words, you missed the whole point of where i was getting at....

if biggie knew they were shady then why he still hanging with them...i'll it at that

pre-recored or not, he could've took them off, if thats the case then why did pac say he'll do the same nas when they squashed it? and i'll leave it at that

and your reply bout luda...self explanatory...you just made my point about subliminals.....thanks homie

Ofcourse he was speaking ill of the dead...there is no way in hell that BIG didnt write the second verse after Pac passed..

You're bleeding lovely, with you, spirit above me
or beneath me, your whole life you live sneaky
Now you rest eternally, sleepy, you burn when you creep me
Rest where the worms-n-the weak be
My nine flies, baptize, rap guys
With the holy ghost
I put holes in most, you hold your toast shakey
Slip-n-trying to break me
Look what you made me do, brains blue
My team in the Marine blew, six-coupe
Skiid it out, weeded out, clean it out
The block for distance is, given long kisses bitch

The song was orginally recorded in the summer of 1996 when Pac was still alive...but BIG added that second verse after Pac got clapped....

Big thought he was on some godfather shit touring all through Los Angeles, kickin it at the radio stations, attending award shows and parties just months after Pac got smoked like nothin happend.

Now think about it why would anyone in his right mind do that? The answer is pretty simple...just imagine how powerful BIG would have looked if he actually made it home from LA dropped Long Kiss and his double album and have folks THINK he had somethin 2 do with Pac gettin killed...shit dude would have been looked at as the King of Rap..

but them LA Niggaz aint fuckin around and they caught Big slippin so the only way he could ever leave LA was in a body bag

RIP

When will niggas learn that Pac rapped basic to reach more people. The average person he was tryin to reach couldn't decifer a lot of Biggie's rhymes.

because tupac career surpassed biggys and his content is more diverse.

and niggas rather have the respect of pac, who is the peoples rapper, his music and life is legendary, thats why every rapper coming up gets that 2pac comparison at some point or they end up comparing themselves to pac. i.e ja, 50, wayne, em, j cole, kanye, dmx, ross, jeezy, etc....

biggy short career i guess cost him, niggas never really got to see BIG grow as an artist, where as pac was on his 6th album and we'd seen him grow from a young teenager into a young man

But from what we did see, we can guesstimate that biggie would have always been better lyrically than PAC. There's a huge jump in flow, style and song craftsmanship in between Ready To Die and Life After Death. PAC keep a steady PAC through out his albums. I say Makevelli was when he was about to really upgrade into a different artist. It didn't take that long for Biggie.
naw Listen to party and bullshit and you can see it was fitting to the era it was recorded. Pac evolved with each hiphop period and styles from late 89-early 91 are vastly different then styles in 94 so read into it as you like but the truth is in the time and music...

And to answer your thread question they say that because you never want to compare someone by saying they will be the next 12th placeholder you compare them by saying they are the new best simple as that...

2pacalypse sounds nothing like MATW or AEOM

his flow changed, his voice got raspier, and his content changed somewhat

BIG had the same flow and style from his first album to his 2nd, the only noticeable change was his production...

there is no difference between big poppa and hypnotize, same style...u'd be fooled into thinking they were on the same record

BIG never had a chance to move forwards, 2 albums simply aint enough time of growth ..5 years wud be another story

only song BIG for me changed it up for was Notorious Thugs flow wise

Because Tupac is easier to mimic because of his persona, nigga dont give a fk bout Pac's rap style. Biggie's rap style was admired

Ja only got signed up because he looked like Pac, when i saw that nigga in the Can I Get a video, i thought who is this fake ass Pac lmao

Russle said they were lookin for someone to take Pacs mantel so they signed up Ja and DMX

Imitation is the best form of flattery so i still fucks with Ja

Def Jam made a lot of money from that image and style of rap...as did Master P and 50cent

Pac is the blueprint of success, his style varied, so you could take any aspect of his music and make urself millions
