Saying 2Pac went at the whole east coast 'by himself' is an utter fallacy, he was only going at Biggie and Puffy until he signed with Suge, then it became fuck (all of) Bad Boy and every nigga down wit 'em. Suddenly he had Snoop, tha Dogg Pound, and that whole shit ton of Outlawz there were back then to help him out dissing these guys. In fact he disowned any artist as a friend who didn't want to go at them with him, which more than anything makes me think he was scared to take on the east coast alone. The image of Pac as a lone rider tearing down the entire east coast is a falsehood.
The next fallacy is trying to say nobody stepped up for Big and that they all waited until Pac died to diss him, and/or they were scared to do it while he was alive. Not speaking for Nas, who may or may not have ended up settling the shit between him and Pac, but (as I said) Jay-Z literally was ready to release his 2Pac diss and he was going to start his own lyrical war with him. If Jay was involved Big would have immediately jumped on the bandwagon. I don't think there's even a question about that. DMX did diss Pac, that's a fact, and unless they squashed the shit he would have definitely continued to take it to Pac. Mobb was dissing him. CNN were dissing L.A. (which was like dissing Pac in effect). Where do you get this image that all these NY artists were shit scared of him? Jay, Mobb, DMX, Biggie (trying to be the peace keeper and STILL sending subliminals), Nas ("rollin' over these fake Makavelis"), which artists are you saying were too scared to diss him again?
