Big got his swag from the streets of Brooklyn as evidenced by the video of him rapping at 17. My boys used to throw parties in the Masonic Temple (this ain't no illuminati shit. Black Masons are known and respected for their knowledge in the streets of BK. We didn't follow it though.) on St. James and Big was riping the mic even then. He was hustling on those corners just like everybody else. Just cuz his moms was working don't mean Big got everything he wanted. Truth be told, selling drugs is about getting more money then you can count, not just getting by and living comfy. His ryhmes told you why he chose to drop out and deal drugs. The life is attractive. Big didn't need Tupac to live and speak on such a life.

Pac went at Big for not warning him about something he should have known about. Who invited Pac to the studio when he got shot the first time anyway? They got him soon as he entered the building, Big didn't even see dude. He was shot for trying to fight a dude with a gun during a robbery. How is that Big fault? Pac was rollin wit some grimey dudes who got him knocked arrested for rape. Then he gets shot by the same dudes and blames it on Big like Big could have done something about it. People warned him but he wanted to live the Thug life and he didn't pay dues when his new homies tried to extort him. This is why he got shot the first time. He wanted to continue living the thug life which is why they finally bodied him the second time.

Big was far more lyrical. He also had classics. He was a complete artist as much as Pac and talked about the grime in the streets in a similar way that Kool G Rap did it but he actually sold almost as much as pac wit 2 albums. Yall dudes suffering from a Messiah complex looking at Pac like he Jesus cuz he said a few things that we all be thinking anyway. This dude wasn't marching on Washington. He was busy tearing down his fellow black man because of his own bad decisions. Ya'll need to get a grip. He did make some great music though.

I love pac but this is a real a** post.

So Big who never said shit about anything meaningful other than sell drugs and party...is better because Pac just said what people had on their mind, like being poor, the Government being shit etc.... yeah BIGGIE was much better cause he can form strong lyrics while rapping about fucking kids up the ass , sorry his man did that.

Course Pac was better

And I would agree with you lol. You're clearly an idiot if you can't detect the satire in a picture of jay-z that says "WWJZD?"

big was just another rapping ass nigga. no different tthan jada, nas, az, or any other grimmy ny rapping ass nigga. was he a great mc? yes but nothing more. he put words together that people forgot soon after his death. people will be remembering pac's words for decades and beyond. people from harlem, to houston, to haiti, to hanoi related to pac and felt him. pac was the bob marley of rap while biggie was just shabba ranks. he said some hot shit for a few years but nothing of substance that will stand the test of time.

and then on top that big only put out 2 records and the second was an OBVIOUS fall off from the first. ready to die was classic while life after death was a dissappointment. it was ok but it was full of fillers, fluff, and puff. pac left a decade of postumus music that was still relevent 10+ years after his death. most if not all of biggies shit was irrelevent 2 years after he died. what do u expect if all you rap about is drugs, clothes, and hoes? thats the same shit u hypocrite ass nyc niggas be hating on cash money for. gtfoh!!! clothes go out of style every 6 months and hoes get older every fucking day. how many times did big rhyme clothes and hoes in his songs??? come on dude. these are facts. big was a great mc for his time but by the late 90's and the 21st century his shit was irrelevent. simple as that.

pac was a harder worker who took his craft much more seriously. its kinda like rakim when he said "i take this shit more serious than just a poem." pac knew that he had some God inspired words that he had to share with the world before his time ran out. big was willing to party and bullshit until the end of time. thats why big was a great rapper and nothing more. pac was a much better rapper b/c he birthed biggies image and he took the game more serious. he coached big and shaped his career. big was a tupac clone. simple as that. he knew it, pac knew it, puff knew it, even faith knew it. thats y she flew all the way 2 the west coast 2 do a song w/her husbands enemy and fuck him on the way home. even that niggas wife knew who was real and who wasnt. come on now. how can u dick ridin stan ass niggas argue with his wife??? as much as yall ride his dick she rode it harder and even she was able to seperate the real from the fake and accept reality 4 what it is. come on man.

in 20 years only a bunch of nyc, funk flex, feelings catching ass niggas will remeber big and his coogi sweaters and fake ass frank white persona. 50 years from now ppl worldwide will be quoting pac and fighting for freedom. thats the difference and it aint even close.

its disrespectful to compare big to pac. thats like comparing mike tyson to ali. ali was clearly better on so many different levels. its a slap in the face to in even put mike tyson in the same sentence with ali. and judging ali only by what he did in the ring is just as stupid as only judging pac as a rapper. ali would have cleaned tyson's clock in the ring just as pac mopped the floor with biggie several times. the on the field comparisions alone make this a pac victory in a landslide but then u add everything that ali and pac did outside of the ring compared to tyson and big and its just distatseful to even think of comparing these guys. tyson and big were great at their craft but they both had flaws in their game and were later DISMANTLED when some1 with more talent exposed those obvious flaws and pounded them into the ground. ali and pac great man who were fearless and dedicated enough to pay the ultimate price for greatness in and out of the ring. tyson and big= great talents. ali and pac = legends!!!!! case closed.

Listen, all I'm saying is...Big is more of a sellout than Pac, but Pac is more of a sellout than X. That is all. Boxing analogies aren't really complementing your argument.

Biggie is "Shabba Ranks?? I'm not buying that comparison. Also how was "Life After Death" a disappointment? How is a Classic a disappointment? Again you aren't giving Biggie his historical credit as one of the Greatest Rappers EVER. You don't become the Greatest by dropping average material SMH. Also how is Biggie's music not standing the test of time? Both of his albums are considered the greatest albums of any genre let alone Hip Hop. Your music and lyrics getting sampled means you'v have impact and you music is still impacting people. Yea Biggie is so irrelevant a Movie about his Life grossed Millions of dollars. Rappers are still sampling his lyrics (Way more than Rappers are sampling Pac's lyrics). And one of the most popular Emcees in the game Jay Z is his direct disciple. You are making zero sense. As long as Jay Z is rapping, Biggie will always be relevent.

skpjr78 has a point with the Shabba Ranks comparison because both were Jamaican with great flows who touched on sex themed topics and materialism, but Shabba had consciousness too.

rapmastermind has a point with BIG's disciples, whoe've done far better than probably any other rappers even with him not living that long to actual lead them:

Lil Kim
Jay Z
Mase
Cam'Ron
Lil Cease
unofficially with the Lox as well. All have found some level of success in the Rap Game with millions sold each minus Cease, who still did decent. You can just imagine how big it would have been if he'd survived. NaS & AZ have always been staunch BIG supporters as well.

My point wasn't to disrespect Shabba I know his legacy but I'm not buying the comparison. I guess his Tyson/Ali comparison was a little better but Tyson just got inducted in the Boxing Hall of Fame and he's easily Top 5. He's acting like Biggie is irrelevant when his influenced is still being felt. More rappers have sampled Biggie lyrics than Pacs. What does that say when Biggie had less material. Also Biggie's FAMILY TREE of Disciples is one of the greatest in Rap History.
