You know the crazy shit about 2pac? He was ahead of his time by years, and he's still ahead of this time too. I've yet to hear anyone be as diverse in subject matter and depth as 2pac is in his songs.

Most rappers these days talk about the same shit over and over again.....cars, women, money, which is all cool but we got bigger issues than that going on.

2pac is one of the few that always talked about issues that affect the world, not just the party and bullshit stuff.

u took the words out of mouth. that is the difference between pac and big. pac's first hit was brenda's got a baby dealing with real shit. big's first hit was party and bullshit dealing with bullshit. that says it all and describes what both of them stood for. big was a good mc i would be lying if i said othrwise. but that doesnt change the fact that he never had the skill, the subject matter, the passion, or the heart that pac had. this is irrefutable fact. big was dope. but he took the commercial route and was well on his way to being mase b4 he died.

u can listen to some of pac's shit from his first album and it still relates today. pac was talkin about oil wars, a bad economy, police brutality, and preisdent bush back in '91. ALL of that shit is still relevent today. big rapped about coogi, partys and bullshit. when is the last time u saw some1 in a coogi sweater?????? that shit played out. big had his run and it ended shortly after his death. pac's shit is timeless. people are always gonna be fighting for freedom and there will always be a universal struglle for justice and equality. you can only party and bullshit for so long. case closed.

bi biggie had more complex rhyme schemes, punchlines and metaphors.
and better flow. he was more technically gifted than pac.

Pac had a broader range of topics in his music and was better at composing songs.

biggie was the better rapper
pac was the better artist

Rundown of the thread for dumb niggas that don't know the truth^^^^^^

let me put you on to a lil something....even before the east/west beef i wasnt a fan of pac...he made a few songs that i liked but sun was never anything special to me.....it aint even about where ya from homey if we're talking about emceeing ya boy is far from the best you should stick to that best artist shyt that yall cats be throwing out there....i'll say this paul pierce is my favorite player in the nba, is he the best no to me that kobe..now when it comes to emceein you can apply that same logic to ya boy he's ya fav but he's far from the best at it...with that said i'm done...lol

The fact that you don't think Chino Xl LYRICALLY is better than Pac just shows your bias favoring.

The East Coast and in particular, New York City is like the Ivy League of Rapping. Even the best that we've produced from outside of that have failed to topple the aforementioned in most people's top five. We do some beautiful stuff with the overall music (Bone, G Funk, OutKast etc., etc.) but NY got that Rappin,' knowledge and the purist sound on lock.

Although I agree that Biggie is a better Rapper and Pac is a better Artist, skpjr78 is dropping some great posts.

preciate it homie. im just trying to real about the shit. i would be a hater if i tried 2 talk down on big. i would be lying if i said he wasnt dope. i would also be lying if i said that big was even comparable to pac. i dont have to down big in order to ride 4 pac. but thats what most of the east coast haters do whenever pac's name is brought up. deep down they know that big had some obvious flaws in his career and in order to fill those holes they try to talk down on pac in order to elevate big. there is no need to do that. let the music and the facts speak 4 themselves.

i know that some ppl like pepsi and some ppl like coke. but i have never heard a coke or a pepsi dude say that rc cola was better. i have never heard that bulshit and im sure i never will. but some guy in this thread just said that chino xl was better than pac. wtf?!?!?!?!? thats where i get frustrated. what kinda bullshit is that????????

im just trying to get passed the regional bias, the commercialiscm, and get to the real. there is no doubt that pac had a greater flow, was better lyrically, had more subject matter, and more heart than big. not just big but every1 else. agian i understand that some ppl are just biggie fans and that ok but u cant argue an obvious fact. this shit is obvious. big was a dope mc pac was clearly better on multiple fronts. its just that simnple. this shit isnt even close.

i have pac and rakim rated 1 and 1a. now thats a debate worth having. i love them both and picking between those 2 is like splitting hairs. depending on the day or the time i could give a reason for either 1 being goat. but biggie. not even close. big was dope but he doesnt even belong in the discussion. michael jordan>scottie pippen. both got paid, won championships, and are in the hall of fame but clearly jordan>pippen.

pac>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>big. clearly.

2Pac >>>>> Notorious B.I.G. without a doubt. Sure, BIG was more concerned about emceeing and being a cliched rapper that wanted to have a lot of wordplay in his raps but 2Pac could show his rapping skills when he wanted to as well as being a lot more diverse with so much to talk about in his songs. I'm not sure how many times BIG even made a song that discussed important issues outside of dealing drugs, depression/death or bitches. I always think of BIG as an inferior Scarface, meaning BIG was better as a pure emcee but not better in general and not nearly as diverse. Scarface has had a similar background of dealing with drugs, street life and depression yet he had succeeded in expanding his horizons a lot sooner than BIG would have been expected to.
