Don't even ask that question bruh. They tried to get at me for my subject mater, but let me talk about how many bricks I'm moving or how many bodies I got hey'd be calling me false like Ross. These dudes are idiots

Im serious, im really curious it sounds like their being sheep just following the status quo. maybe i got everything figured out wrong? Arent these forums suppose to be critical as in critique a artist.. Not just hate because its cool to hate on that particular artist.. Maybe they dont know what they like

Never heard fitted caps but name a rapper that hasn't been ate by someone featured on a track?

Workout is meh....not great but not bad....owning the summer? I'd be surprised if it did....

And who the fuck cares about Charisma...."Man dude is dope as hell. Lyrically: oustanding. Storytelling: Amazing But bruh his charisma...is lacking....so he wack...."

What kinda shit is that....

don't do that
cuz you know good and damn well if a nigga bores you all that other shit don't matter
if a nigga voice or delivery ain't captivating enough to make you wanna hear his outstanding lyrics and amazing storytelling then you not gon listen
and cole's lyrics ain't outstanding and his storytelling ain't amazing
this is the shit that makes niggas diss him
he ain't all that
he aight
he ain't all that tho

So.........

You think J Cole had a good verse on Fitted Caps??? The verse was average, but he got the best of Wale on Beautiful Bliss and Rather Be With You, so to pick one average verse and discredit him is unfair

You think Workout will own the summer??? Nope, but it's too early to tell, it's not like the better the song is equates to large success on the Billboard

You honestly think J Cole is equal in charisma to Drake??? Hell nah, lol, Drake breathes this mainstream shit

Really nigga?

These questions interested me...

i think his talent alone will have everyone interested in him

one cant deny his talent, it would only been a matter of time till he was signed, it was the same with drake

the only difference between the two is, one if being pushed heavily with the help of mainstream rappers

if j cole's debut does flop, i'm guessing rocnation will drop him, however if jayz were to collab with him, push a video out and the song was fire, he'd be the most talked about rapper since drake

Seriously, why do ya'll keep talking and looking at shit from a sales perspective and not looking at the bigger picture? TOURING,TOURING,TOURING, BRANDING AND PUBLISHING.

It's like you niggas are so fixated on the perception of succeess (being on BET and radio), when you don't make money from radio play or video play, you eat in this business by being able to put on a show and touring.

I don't think J Cole will flop sales wise, he has a base, but dude will eat from touring and other shit (publishing on these commercials). Look at the bigger picture, not just the album sales shit, because to be quite honest only 8 rappers can even go platinum nowadays.

Well J Cole is a RARE case indeed.

The hate he recieves comes from a combination of unwarranted praise for very average musical ability, his affiliation with Jigga, and his quiet somewhat introverted type personality.

IMO J Cole wants the rap crown without the hustle and hardwork it requires to attain it. He's gonna own the Summer with Work Out?? He's gonna save hip-hop but he gets eaten alive by Wale and Meek on Fitted Caps??

The way I look at it J Cole is an underground artist trying to perpetrate as a mainstream one. Expect the hate to grow stronger as his underground fans begin to turn on him as he tries harder and harder to attain that mainstream audience. I personally wish him the best but I'm not gonna pretend like I don't see what's wrong with his situation.

He's no where near as talented as Nas, he doesn't have the charisma of Big KRIT, Wale, Meek, Drake, or even Big Sean. I mean honestly I have no idea where he even fits into the hiphop landscape. What Cole needs to do is humble himself and stop trying to be "hiphops saviour" and just put out music. He's trying way too hard and its starting to show.

I can't explain it, I listened to his catalog on a marathon session, I wasn't too intoxicated and for some odd reason that I can't explain I started believing that he would be the greatest.

I don't throw out co-signs for everybody and I been had Kendrick Lamar heavy in rotation but it's something in J. Coles music that connected with me like the first time my older brother played me Tupac.

...my bro said he wack and that JayZ put subliminal messages in the music to make people like it...I said Negro-please.

You dont get that vibe bruh??

ofcourse touring is important, but if nobody knows who the fuck u are, why will they come to watch you in the first place?

you want to sell out big venues, u need hit records...even if they dont go plat, but are still regarded as classics, the venus will be filled out, i.e look at Rozay, everywhere he goes all over the world, shit is sold out, he has hit songs for days

my problem with cole thus far is he has no real hit song, a career defining song, a timeless classic, or even a classic

its the music that matters, everything else comes second

I dont think its hate but his on a long list of recent rappers that should not be rappers, he has no interesting back story or personna and to top it off he doesnt have a superior rhyme scheme, content or delivery.

his no better than I.C rappers

J Cole basically reminds people of Asher Roth but with worst Production than Asher

Even Asher had a Hit with 'I Love College'

Yeah J Cole is below average at Rapping

Poor Production, weak Hooks, weak Delivery

And his Content/Subject Matter is not interesting at all for the listener

And he lacks Emotion

Dude, what the hell? How are you gonna say no one knw who the fuck he is, the dude sells out shows consistently, good size shows too (3k-5k). He sold out the UCF basketabll arena when he was here in Orlando.

I personally think J Cole is a slow build artist, i don't think he will come out taking the scene like Drake, but i think he will be like a Nas, Jay, etc where they dropped a dope debut that laid a foundation and build on it. Then he will manage to find the balance of underground and mainstream music! As for Ross, i wouldn't say Ross has hit records, hit records are top 40 songs to me. Ross is a perfect example of what J Cole can be, slowly put out quality music and improve album after album, it's a marathon not a sprnt.

I don't care about no hit song, we haven't even heard the fucking album to determine none of that shit, just pure speculation and useless nonsnse. Let the man make the best quality he can make, then we can properly judge him.

It just seems like nigga are talking about a bunch of nothing, we have'nt heard an album yet.

every rapper established before 20003/4 had all of these things from Nas to 50 to young Jeezy.

you have to have a reason for someone to listen to you and when they do you have to have certain attributes that are nice. he does not have this.

a college graduate from a middle class family now makes rap music , ......... no different than some co-worker spitting bars at lunch break. I aint tryna hear that shit.

examples.

50 : got shot, hustler, ill at hooks and riding beats, street content
Nas : young kid of the ghetto from poverty, poetic lyricist, street content
Jeezy : hustler, street background, made anthems, street content

J Cole, has zero appeal.
