nah

i think dbacks caught an L

they going full brooklyn nets apparently

on some sabermetric shit shelby peripherals numbers has him as a reliable 3 maybe a 2

i would rather have carrasco

Not feelin that castro trade at all.Coulda got more than they just gave him away

and the dbacks got fleeced they gave up way too much for shelby miller but it makes them official in the nl west

it kinda reminds me of the mcdermott trade where the bulls traded two first round picks -- they needed all the cap space they could free up for a chance to sign melo so they basically had to give away the charlotte pick

same with the yankees

too many players

not enough positions to play them at

especially with the zobrist signing

best part of the zobrist signing is that he fits maddon managing style perfectly

between 2B (baez), 3B (bryant), lf (schwarber) and rf (soler) and once you factor in rest days, injuries, etc -- he will basically play everyday + you can shift baez to ss to give rest days to russell

baez should be fine especially if the plan to get him reps in cf are real

theo should ride with what they have until july

then decide between soler or baez on who should be traded for pitching/second half reinforcements

If it ultimately keeps baez and soler on the team then I'm good.Hate to see castro go cuz he was here all the years they sucked and gets traded when the cubs are contenders. He should kill at yankee stadium

I read the cubs still got dough to spend and might go after heyward. If they get heyward this team gonna be a serious problem

this dude who understands the analytics said castro was about as bad as you can get for an everyday player and his defense made them worse and the cubs got a very solid pitcher who can start or strengthen the bullpen.I overestimated castros trade value so I aint trippin like that no more

Braves asked for kris bryant in return for shelby miller wtf.Hart clearly got hold of some good nose candy

Astros and Dodgers talkin to the yankees about miller since chapman is a raging psycho that can't be traded yet

me too

everything i read this morning pretty much was the same -- castro just wasnt generating that much interest and that the 3 time all star thing was overstated around the league because of how bad the cubs were and how by rule at least one player had to be represented in the all star game

theo and co. dont strike me as people that make moves impulsively so i have to think those 2 clubs shootings in the d.r and that sexual assault allegation impacted this decision just as much as it being a salary dump

this is so true though

he always did seem to catch a lot of flack (some of it earned) but he took his demotion in stride and when he got another chance at 2b he was great

i really think this is a trade where it can work out for both teams because even though warren really had no defined role with the yankees he was at times on the low the best starter and best releiver not named miller or betances

for the dodgers to acquire fernandez according to frisaro from mlb.com

joc

seager

urias

and at least two other prospects

for the red sox to land fernandez according to heyman

rodrigez

espinoza

moncada

devers

so in between that and the haul that atlanta landed for shelby miller who isnt half the pitcher fernandez is its safe to assume fernandez stays in miami for the foreseeable future

dbacks fucked it up for everybody

+ The way he played the first 4 months of the season outside those gw hits he was awful. That's crazy it was just 2014 when castro to the mets for syndergaard rumors were runnin rampant

He definitely came through after the demotion and at times he carried the offense.I'll always rock wit castro I remember his debut when he hit that 3 run hr in cincy but the cubs tryna win a world series and I been wanting the cubs to acquire zobrist for a min.

if the Dbacks gave up all that shit for Shelby Miller they should've just said fuck it and went all in for Fernandez instead, that's crazy.

"And then going forward, long-term, this will give more opportunity for Javier Baez as well with Zobrist’s flexibility and ability to play all over the field," President Theo Epstein said Tuesday night."We value those guys tremendously," Epstein said. "There’s tremendous value holding onto the Baezs and Solers of the world and letting their talent manifest over a full major league season. They’re guys who have the opportunity to play a major league season over six months.

"We’re invested in both guys. We’re listening. If the right deal were to come along, we’d pay a little closer attention. But certainly both guys are important parts of our future, and we look forward to them continuing to establish themselves."

Still need a CF then the cypher is complete.Denard span or Jason Heyward I'm good wit either one

Prefer heyward cuz he's younger and a better defender

Heyward over there would be nuts yo...but don't worry, we gon get ya boy Starlin Castro a championship!

Just be ready when he botches that routine groundball up 1 in the 9th then watches himself on the big screen while the runner scores from 2nd or when he sprints to the dugout when there's 2 outs. That's what you get with starlin castro but I'm sincerely pulling for duke and he should hit good in yankee stadium
