There's probably red tape around anything explicitly referring to Superman though. The moment they open that door, they can't close it. He's infinitely more interesting than Supergirl and would immediately overshadow her character.

This episode is more of what the pilot had. Campy feminist fist pumping dialogue. The Jay Electronica looking dude is just too much.

The second ep was kinda lame. They're basically following the Flash template. Hopefully it'll pick up otherwise, the show may be in trouble.

I'm trying to give this show a chance but I'm wondering if CBS is really going to give this show a chance. I like that DC/CBS is going for lighter tone from Arrow & Flash but I'm tired of all the Superman references though.

Imma give this show a chance. Hell I did wit Agents of Shield, Arrow, Grimm, and Flash. And they all turned out to be my favorite shows.

Jimmy doesn't need to be white. He's a largely pointless character.

I don't think I can deal too much longer with this heavy handed 'girl power' shit. The writers are coming across as insecure in their own creation. This is making it where Supergirl can only be a great female show, but not a great show regardless of gender pandering.

Kara as a character CAN be very important. That's a given if you know the comics but the way they keep tip toeing around the DC universe in relation to her, it's watering her importance down.
