Stat Quo Remembers The Moment He Told Dr. Dre "Compton" Was Wack & Pissing Off Eminem

Dre is a modern day Prince

He makes music every day and releases an album every couple of years.

Thats a lot of music in the vault but most of it is probably average at best.

I can understand why somebody who makes music every day would want to make a masterpiece rather than releasing whatever he made that day.

just watched the full interview. its up at https://www.facebook.com/HipHopDX/videos/10154306180932006/

great and insightful interview. Stat keeps it a buck. They even referenced a hiphopdx interview from 2014 where he said that Jimmy Iovine once called the Detox production team "The greatest practice team of all time":

"“I remember Jimmy Iovine said, ‘It’s like the greatest practice team of all time,’” Stat Quo says. “’Imagine a team that just practices and never plays the game. That’s what you guys do in here. All these great songs, nobody’s ever going to hear them.’ It was true. It’s so much music."

ether.

Wouldnt even say its ether but more of a reality check. Its true and i mentioned it in that other thread. Dre is dead wrong for wasting niggas time grinding out songs/ghostwriting whole albums just to never see the light of day.

Nigga need to fully be called out for that fuck shit. Create a streaming service under the dre beats umbrella and open that vault!

everybody involved was paid but still....

thats a LOT of hours, time away from your family and some more shit...

god forbid that Dre dies, but once he does, imagine how his catalog will be treated......and how FAST shit comes out.

those detox sessions would make a LOT of money for a LOT of people.

well if they were getting paid then how is that any different from any other job where you gotta leave home and family to go to work?

The real issue to me is that he has all these classics in the vault that we might never hear in our lifetime

i meant to add the fact that when you spend pouring your creativity into something at the expense of creating something ELSE that may never see the light of day is a lot for any artist.

its different.
