You do realize that anything less than $15 is not sufficient to live above the poverty line?

Most people working those jobs aren't kids--they're working class women with children.

I agree with the strike.

I mean I know people who make $12-14 here in Texas who live above the poverty line, but then again I'm in Texas where it's cheap to live.

here's the thing that gets me...

the level of astounding hypocrisy

the same motherfuckers, calling foul and whining about who doesn't deserve what

when it comes raising the minimum wage....

are the VERY same motherfuckers that are advocating to cut & get rid of social programs that are designed to help the poor and less fortunate in the country

so lets think about this

you don't want to pay a "living wage" because it will impact the prices of goods & service

but you don't want people on social programs that have (allegedly) have a impact on goods & services....

the top 20 CEOs of the country giving themselves 8-10 million dollars raises in the middle of the biggest Recession ...

hey... no prob

giving someone working at Taco Bell a measly extra 2 bucks

"No,no,no, that destroy the country economic recovery...!!!"

No, most people working fast food ARE KIDS. There's been a growing number of adults in fast food since the start of the recession, but it's still a kids job.

every other developed nation in the world has free universal healthcare for its citizens. I had hoped Obama would give us the same. He didn't.

you aren't supposed to be able to afford a liveable lifestyle if your chosen career path is a fast food cook. get a real job

How is working in fast food not a real job?

its a real job, but its not a job intended to support the lifestyle of an adult (rent, bills, transportation, other living expenses)

LOL at "working class women with children". No, they're slackers who didn't pay attention in school and now expect a living wage.

If you want a living wage income, get some living wage skills.

when you are hired for a job making $8 an hour, you should know exactly what its intended to be
