They just rebuilt one of the McDonald's in one of the busiest and tourist packed areas in my city. I drove past it from work the other day; nothing but self ordering kiosk machines inside. They're still not finished with it though.

I used one over here, pretty cool...

I walked in and ordered my food and paid and just sat down...5 minutes later a chick came over with my food and shit.

But...but I still don't know how she knew it was me that ordered that exact food and not the nigga sitting behind me.

Burger flipping jobs are on the extinction watch list and in the next 10-15 years truck driving and and all driving jobs might also be on the list

The self ordering kiosks been at places for a while now. If you've ever been inside a Sheetz or WaWa gas station/rest stop they've been there for more than a decade.

It's inevitable....

And unfortunately it will put a strain on resource allocation & cause increased class inequalities.....

Gonna suck ass to be on the right side of this spectrum....

We have been warned and warned again. ITS HAPPENING!!!

I work in the IT field and something like those could be the one of the first to go along w/ jobs like HelpDesk.....

Let the machine fuck up and serve some bad, contaminated shit and they catch that lawsuit too.

I would hope something can put an end to this path we're on, but it seems inevitable. Whenever stuff like this happens, you see a few articles about an "accident" and then its forgotten. This just happened recently...

The first American death involving a car in self-driving mode presents a dilemma: How aggressively to embrace the potentially life-saving technology after a fatal crash. The driver's history of speeding further complicates the question.

The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration is investigating the design and performance of the Tesla Model S vehicle's "Autopilot" system after announcing the death of a driver on Thursday. The system was engaged at the time of the crash, but that is only part of the story.

The driver, Joshua D. Brown, a 40-year-old technology company owner from Canton, Ohio, was so enamored of his sedan that he nicknamed it "Tessy" and praised the Autopilot's safety benefits. Brown published videos on Youtube of himself behind the wheel with the system active.

He was killed May 7 in Williston, Florida, when his car's cameras failed to distinguish the white side of a turning tractor-trailer from a brightly lit sky and didn't automatically activate the brakes, according to statements by the government and the automaker. Brown didn't take control and brake, either.

A former Navy SEAL has become the first person to die at the wheel of a self-driving car - and a witness has claimed he was watching a Harry Potter movie when his Tesla collided with a truck while on autopilot.

Joshua Brown, 40, died after his computer-guided Tesla Model S plowed into a tractor trailer on a freeway in Williston, Florida, in May.

Despite the claim, Tesla says it is not possible to play films on the vehicle's touchscreen - however it is possible Brown was using another device.

Tesla said its autopilot system failed to detect the truck because its white color was similar to that of the bright sky, adding that the driver also made no attempt to hit the brakes.

Let's pretend now that any innovation in food and retail productivity only exists because people want more pay.

As if technological advancement would stop otherwise. Why are some of yall niggas so worried about making sure people don't get high pay? Fuck that got to do with you?

The problem is some people on this site beside me are actually entrepreneurs starting out with small buisness, forcing 15 and hour stifles any small buisness or mom and pops shop, in essence only allowing corporations to operate.

It's a bad idea for everyone.

What's the name of your business so I can look it up

No website yet though I am scouting out locations and have been selling online (arms list and other sites) and mainly in person. I think you were in the last thread about this I sell firearms (legally of course) and anyone with a legal permit I'll sell to.

Digital wave is popping and been in the buisness thread before but I'll say it here to, if anyone is interested in being an Arms dealer (legally) I have a proposition for you.
I promise anyone firearms and ammo has the highest potential for growth, and it's all going to be black owned.

if it's automated I'm down

MFs acting like only fast-food workers will benefit from raising the minimum wage... and ain't nobody else being payed less than they can survive on.

Explain in detail who exactly will benefit from such a larger increase. 15 is overkill 12 is a nice increase.

As far as surviving, if someone is 30+ and working at a mcjob or not in a management position at retail or another company, then perhaps they fucked up somewhere along there life. There is no excuse for them working a child's job.

People always shit on fast food workers for wanting 15 an hour while dumbasses are out here getting 15 an hour or better working as telemarketers. I know people who went from fast food or some other minimum wage job to telemarketing and they get 15 an hour soon as they get in there. 15 an hour or more just to talk on the phone

Cold part is the minimum wage in The Bay Area going up to $15 per hour anyway. So you're telling me state law is putting people out of work?

I mentioned this in another thread. There was no consideration for the backlash of the employers. It's not like this is the 1st time some shit like this has happened. They know

If they really gave a dam, they would've laid down laws to prevent it.

Weapons and growth... What an oxymoron imo

I understand that morally some people find it repugnant but I'm simply trading one item for another.

You dont get it. A gun oriented economiy wont have any positive results to your life as a citizen. Guns and other weapons need PURPOSEs so continue to be sold. Do I need to go further?

American people like guns the enjoyment of owning them and the potential to violently protect yourself is the positive result of guns being in the open economy.

The purpose of a gun is to kill/protect.. Americans like being able to lethally protect ourselves. You are French or at least you are under the French way of thinking so maybe you don't get it.

Some of you fail to realize that this was going to happen anyway, in the name of profit, not just because they raised min wage. The thought of going to a fast food place and touching a nasty touchscreen, that mad other questionable people before me touched disgusts me.

CNBC had this show on restaurateur in NYC and one of them owed a chain of meatball shop restaurants. They'd have workers hand roll their meatballs at a warehouse someone and ship it to their stores. During the show it showed them going to some company and buying a machine that could press out a shit ton of meatballs a min, that could lower their costs when they paid the machine off ( it cost like 6 figures).

My point is these guys owned a few stores, that each made millions of dollars a year in sales and still were squeezing out as much profit as they can. So no matter what ur job title is, if the company can have a robot do your job for cheaper they're going to replace ur ass.

Also im still laughing at the nigga casually saying learn computer programming.

America has been making tons of money arming smaller countries and watching them kill each other. It's not stopping anytime soon
