I don't see anything wrong with it if single fathers are also celebrated on Mother's Day.

Some feel a Mother, being a woman, can never take the place of the Father, being a man, in a child's life

Personally, I don't think it's necessary for children to have either fathers or mothers per se (as opposed to parents who are nurturing, compassionate, strong, loving etc. regardless of gender) but I could be persuaded otherwise.
