I smell bs.....you guys can't even unite and do music together foh with that...why do you think all of your favorite and/or successful rappers from the east, mainly new york, move to the south, start rhyming like the southern rappers, and using southern beats
You smell B.S. because you are standing in it.

FOH New York invented rap music and was making rap music for 10 years before Uncle Luke decided to start making porno-rap.

Why do you think all your favorite/ or succesful rappers from the South run to New York to get a co-sign or to get a deal, or to get distributed.

So give us a list of all these NY rappers that moved down south and started rhyming like southern rappers....take your time.

According to statistics by the U.S. department of Education African Americans have the lowest test scores across the board among all applicants...so actually below what ever average you see posted.

Its not the South's fault that they have the worst educated people, I blame the system.

Indeed, who's grading those test again? right on, i can dig it...and since that is the case, no more need to discuss the intelligence among regions, unless we're going to be specific as to what "group" of people we're talking about...who the f is jay electronica? hahah

Yes, we are and most will admit it. Now our southern brothers have to admit that they are a bit slow. I don't think either is a smack. There is truth in it. We come from totally different ways of life and thinking.

how you put those 2 statements side to side in the same post is beyond me
so you let a nigga constantly and consistently tell you that you're slow
and see how much of a fucking smack it is

"rza has expressed his blahbity blahbity blah blah blah"

good for him

but this shit right here?

this shit he doin right now?

fuck that shit

make music that somebody wants to hear other than internet niggas

how bout that?

i mean, damn

don't you niggas get tired of debating what some rapper SAID

instead of what he SPIT?

ain't that what they rappers for?

to rap?

shit

Honestly NO!! I never get tired of building and having healthy progressive conversation. We can discuss what RZA has spit yesterday, today and in the future. However, that's not what this thread is currently discussing. You made an un-informed statement so, I clarified. No harm, no foul my dude. You too riled up about nothing.

That is truth no argument here. Northern artists have had to move underground thanks to artists like Jay-z, 50 and Diddy. I totally agree. Now, what I will say is, being as though, the south is at the forefront they could bring Hip Hop around 360 degrees by bringing back some thought provoking and introspective Hip Hop. So, if, there is a disconnect this could be why. When the north had the torch and the west to a degree they CHOSE to be creative, introspective, progressive and fresh with their brand of Hip Hop. The South hasn't taken a stand. They have chosen to settle into recycled junk. So, I think that's why you hear and read so much concerning the south and it's contribution to Hip Hop.

We still fighting............we have so many artist in that Jay-Elec lane......we have plenty of backpackers....... truth of the matter is........now how can we con the labels

into lettin artist with knowledge of self, artist who are on a progessive wave get shine......i think Jay-Elec brought the convo to the table......and im so thankful New York did embrace him when the south didnt.......but as a man i respect him so much more for just addressing the fact.......man its been decades that UpNorth Rappers been disrespecting Southern.......just flat out being disrespectful....... dont get me wrong......i like some of the corn-ball ass music......Roscoe Dash-Showout....soon i leave the job in 35 minutes......im turning that shit so loud......but some of these corn-ball ass tracks gotta got........ i just hope we have some artist that can relay to the world that we have to offer then dance music.......

Perhaps it's tough love? Most sensitive cats label criticism be it good or bad as hate.

Tough love huh? Hiphop came from NY but right now y'all barely control any of it. If y'all wanna criticize then lead by example. Put out some music that ppl outside of NY wanna listen to like y'all used to. Eastcoast emcees cannot make downsouth music so wat grounds do they have to talk down. Good Eastcoast hiphop is wat the game is missing the most right now and y'all can't produce cuz ya too busy hatin. The eastcoast doesn't put out good music anymore and their fans don't buy records so why should we downsouth care wat the hell y'all think.

I agreed that most of US NYer's are Assholes as, was said by one of the southern posters. So, I said if, we can admit to being assholes then, southerns should be able to admit to being a bit slow. I suggest you read and cease being so emotional.

Yo I thought my brother H-Rap was from the Bay Area, when did you be New York Supremist? I'm going to be honest, I grew up in the South(Louisiana) as well as some of the most thoughtful and intelligent people you'll ever encounter. I went to college and some of the and dumbest people I've met were from New York and Chicago. Niggas were straight savages who really just came to college to hustle and said fuck a education. Some of them are actually good friends of mine til this day. While growing I gravitated more towards East Coast hip hop because all I did was watch Rap City and YO! MTV Raps, so I was under the impression that NY hip hop was the standard. However, never once did I feel that New Yorkers were any more intelligent that than any of the rappers down here.

There was once a time when NY hip hop was superior to any region due to their, due to their word play and subject matter. But those days are long gone and culture is now spread all over the country. There are lyricist and 5% all over the country due to hip hops influence, from New Orleans to Detroit and even cities with no major presence in hip hop like Seattle. Just because all you here is dumb limited artists on the radio such as Gucci Mane and Soldier Boy on the radio doesn't mean the dominant music we want to hear in the South. It's just that shit that gets promoted by musical execs. Southerner have a eclectic taste in music because here we had to listen to everything growing up, there was no medium for Southern hip-hop. Groups such as Outkast and Goodie been spreading knowledge since 92, but don't really get he credit they deserve. This shit about southerners being slow and uneducated is unfounded, don't believe everything you hear in the media. Rappers are not representatives of the intellectual abilities of the south, they're just dudes trying to eat off rappin just like shitty rappers such as jim jones and maino.

im just wonderin ya a FEMALE rite????

i ain't riled up
and my statement wasn't uninformed
it was an opinion
i'm sick of niggas talkin
it seems like everyday there's a new video on youtube or worldstar
that features a rapper
NOT RAPPING!
that shit is annoying
make good music
i mean
if you worked at fed ex
and instead of packing boxes into trucks
your coworkers are constantly makin videos as to why niggas in fed ex ground are smarter than niggas at the hub
you'd be like all you niggas deserve to get fired
thats just how i feel about shit like this

Bro im new to learning about the Moorish movement but im learning A LOT about who we really are i wish i could go to a temple but im out here in the West and the West dont seem to have any conscious movements so i hit up youtube......

I watch a lot of Taj Tarik Bey's lectures on youtube hit that up...he droppin a lot of knowledge on the government locking "blacks" into contracts from birth because we label ourselves brands instead of Nationalizing and becoming Moorish American....The Moors (blacks, african americans and other indigenous ppl of Amexem) own all the land in America but the government claims it because we wont wake up and Nationalize, because it aint nuthin we can do under these "Roman Names" because we dont own ourselves they own us the contract is our birth certificates......Its a lot tho but just search Taj Tarik Bey on youtube if u dont already kno about him.

Will do......soon as i get home...... im up on that.....yea i been about the Moors discovering America and helping Christopher travel around the world......

and i know the Romans ran us outta that part of the world......after the dark ages.....or maybe before.....but i know lil something something about the Moors...

i read alot about them....but i will get into this dude u refered me to......thanks again

smh
b
being slow
is a smack
is the gist of what i said
why would anybody in their right mind admit to being slow?
why?
and you sayin this shit matter of factly
like you personally know all southerners
you usin these statistics and shit like they're the Gospel
what a nigga don't know has nothing to do with what he can learn
so cuz a nigga might not know what you know doesn't mean he's slow
you understand?

I disagree fam. I have been around this Hip Hop shit since I was a doo wop and any all creative artists, where ever they were from got Love from those of us who Love Hip Hop. DOC, and Scarface who are the standard for southern Hip Hop lyricism always got Love. Now talking about Radio and Record labels is altogether different. Us, as Hip Hoppers have no control over those things.

Thats why i want an answer to this question...

"Do the rappers from the South correctly reflect the people in the South"

NY has conscious rappers, crack-rappers, and battle-rappers but some regions lack certain types of rappers and you cant ignore that fact...look at the numbers.

You shouldn't care! But to think that because, the south dominates radio and sales = good music just makes you sound a bit sour. Your points aren't even co-herent. As to what you like vs what I like or the average Hip Hop likes isn't what the discussion is, about.
