I mean I guess I gotta go with Pop.

Jackson is great but he runs Tex Winter's shit, and always played with the #1 guy in the NBA with help in a big market.

But I think Pop is usually given too much leeway. Parker, Manu, and Duncan compliment each other perfect. They are great great players. So I think sometimes Pop gets too much credit, but I would still go with Pop, because he and the Spurs have the uncanny ability to make unknowns, very good players.

true but pop also have a way of finding talent in the draft or overseas... and pop is working with a low market team... its not like superstars are going out there way to come to San Antone... and pop got 50 wins 12 years straignt ... last team to do it was Magics Lakers...

and Pop is the best with Next game adjustments in the Play offs

Doc aint shit

Pop is a good choice.

But right now I'm liking what Scott Brooks and Tom Thidibeau (I butchered that) is doing with their teams.

And don't act like Pop always had them TP and Ginobili. He won a title well before them niggas was there.

I believe he hasn't missed the playoffs since Duncan got there. So we're talking since '96.

pop, easily. But truth be told, nba coaches are more interchangeable and expendable than any other sport because of the power the ownership and the fans give the players.

You ever listen to those "mic'd" sideline "coach speak" shitz?

This is your average nba pep-talk....

*on one knee surrounded by a bunch of nonchalant nba niggas that know you'll get fired before they will.

"okay, guys, we gotta go out there and rebound, hustle... And, um... When you shoot the ball make sure it goes in that orange cylinder with the white threads hanging off of it, mkay? And um... Yeah. And hustle an' stuff. And second-chance points or something or another."

doc rivers!

I said he won one before Tony Parker and Ginobili. I didn't say before Duncan.

And Doc wasn't shit before KG and Ray Allen got there. They was the worst team in the league year prior. So he's the best coach now?

Tom Thidbeaux - Chicago is HOOPIN now

Doug Collins - The way he's worked a mini-miracle in Philly, he should be up there

George Carl - Look at the Nuggets NOW, post-Melo. They nice

Greg Poppovich - The Spurs have been consistently great for like 15 years

Phil Jackson, although he's more of a "manager", than a coach.

As much as I want to say Doc Rivers, I remember that Doc was a half-season away from getting fired before they got KG and Jesus. He's gotten better, yes. But elite....I can't say that.

out of all coaches not named phil jackson... its gotta be greg popovich. and to use an over-used cheapseats phrase thats usually way off...

"...its not even close."

nah phil jackson gets his props for the amount of rings he coached but hes the robery horry of coaches when it comes to rings.
when you coach teams loaded with GOAT candidates for your entire coaching career you know damn well you just along for the ride.

pop has won with less and knows how to get his players to play for him. phil relies heavily on what mike and kobe could do for him

Coach Tom Tibs. The Bulls have won with Boozer missing the 1st month Noah missing half the season NO shooting guard they lead the league in def and its all due to tibs making the players buy into his system

lmao... nigga you ignorant.

phil the only coach who's been the victim of his own success. only 2-3 teams in history of basketball have won a ring without "great" players, but phil the only one who gets penalized for having them.

i'll give you the mike years. cuz he took the bulls over the hump.
but are you gonna tell me having shaq AND kobe wasn't a factor in the second 3 titles?
and then the gift gasol trade? the gave up kwame fuckin brown for gasol?
phil isnt a victim of his own success, he was the recipient of a lot of gifts.
i wont fault him for shit workin out in his favor. but only a fool would deny that.

let me ask you, whats a more impressive coaching feat?
larry brown coaching the pistons over the lakers when they had that star heavy team? or phil jackson coaching shaq and kobe over larry browns 76er team?

which required more coaching?

i guess in your blind fandom you forget that players can in fact have a big impact on a game too

lmao... of a coach?

anyway like i mentioned before only 2 maybe 3 teams in the history of the league has won without great players, an obvious nod to larry brown's pistons. and yes phil has been outcoached at times like any other coach ever in history and yes players make a difference...

but you just compared phil jackson to robert horry. no matter what context you try to put that in, its dumb as fuck. phil was candidate for GOAT coach status off of what he accomplished with the bulls alone. even if you ignore his stint with the lakers he is still more accomplished than any coach you name besides red auerbach. fact.

and as far as phil always havin "GOAT candidates"... they werent considered that until they won championships.

coincidence?

lakers with 4 allstars in shaq, nick van exel, eddie jones and kobe were getting sweptout the playoffs with coach del harris.

lakers DROP two all stars (eddie jones, nick van exel) and ADD PHIL JACKSON... 3 straight championships.

No he wasn't....smh

and yeah pop, doc rivers, phil jackson (eventhough i dont think he's all that great), jerry solan (eventhough he dont coach anymore) and Thidbeaux is doing a good job in chi this season. and lets remember pop always had talent in the spurs way before duncan got there...d.robinson, s.elliott...spurs always had a squad let's not act like all great coaches didnt have great players on their squad now

how do praise p.jackson but try to take way from doc rivers in the same sentence???

i think nba coaches do most of the real coaching in practice. learnin plays etc, so in games its just like run this, do that and stop fuckin up. they still just as important as any other sport.

ps: does baseball have coaches, if so, wtf do they do???? like oh hey make sure you hit the ball...

not sure if serious
