@Jamaica, you are crazy to think Eminem hasn't made an impactful record in his career. You can't deny how Marshall had ruffled many feathers and draw many controversies while garnering multi-platinum numbers of Marshall Mathers album. The album maybe drew a negative impact but it showcased Eminem's lyrical dexterity and song-writing ability. Em was the most scrutinized rapper at the time. He had everybody talking about his funny-sarcastic-misoygnist songs.

i personally never heard any rapper say "the marshall mathers lp was an influence to me" i never hear no rapper say any eminem album influenced their style.

he made a few classic songs like stan, lose yourself etc. but for the most part his run was unimpactful.

you say eminem was ruffling feathers by dissing pop stars. other rappers been spoke out against pop acts what you think the phrase sell out means in terms of hip hop? em wasn't doing anything new there.

The War Report is better than any UGK album. A lot better.

I disagree with comments about Nas...

Lots of people were on to Nas when he came out with "Illmatic". He was just so far ahead of his time that he didn't really crossover into commercial success until his following albums...

This was an era before the internet so word of Nas was spread through dubbed tapes and word of mouth.

I remember Nas' had a crazy buzz... who is that cat on Main Source's "Live at the BBQ"?... did that Nasty kid just say he is "waving automatic guns at nuns" on that MC Search track?... yo, did you hear that "Halftime" joint on that Zebrahead movie compliation? That shit is bananas!!

I'm the same age as Nas (yeah, I'm old as fuck) so I remember when Nas was an upcoming M.C. hanging out in Toronto recording some of his demos with the two deejays from Main Source who are Canadian (Sir Scratch and K-Cut). K-Cut used to own a barbershop in Scarborough and all these hiphop legends would hang out...
