questions about the terminator franchise...

there were some good ideas with the big robots, bikes etc., but its just not violent enough. terminators are killing machines, i wanna see blood and body parts.

I've always thought it was strange that some people who are interested in some of the same movies/tv shows/comic books and maybe even some novels that I am like them for different reasons than I do (ie. the action), especially if it's horror. I like Terminator for the story and characters and for the (moral/philosophical) themes or 'message'.

I don't like gore. I don't know when I first saw T2 or parts of it but I vaguely remember later thinking (as a child) that some of the scenes were scary and harsh.

if you dont like gore watch transformers or irobot

gore is important in the classic terminator and robocop movies

but other things like "the message", time travel, soundtrack etc. are equally important

T3 wasnt that bad yall trippin. It had good action scenes but some felt like a straight Syfy movie. But the last part when they go to the shelter in that mountain right before the beginning of Judgment Day was great to me

Nah B. T3 sucked.

The thing that killed me about that entry was where was the originality? T1 had the concept, T2 broke barriers by revamping that concept to the next level everything was dope about T2. T3 jusr rehashed the same story.

Salvation could have have and should had been Awsome. I mean we was waiting for that shit for years and they did not execute at all.

The key for this franchise is storytelling, character development, and a gritty dark terrible future.

Fuck that PG13 shit. Make it Rated R with Gore and all that shit that made T2 what it was. Hell pay James like a billion dollars to see his vision of the future

T2 is one of the greatest movies of all fuckin time... It still holds up. I still catch feelings when Arnold drop himself into the lava with his thumbs up. Shape shifting terminator was dope and really helped convey the desperation of the situation of the Arnold terminator being outdated and obsolete and made it that much better that he still came out on top.

"Come with me if you want to live"

The mall shoot out. The chase through the canal. The shoot out at skynet headquarters. All some of the GOAT action sequences in any movie ever. Infucked with all the terminator movies but T2 stands alone. It does not belong in the same thread as the rest of this series.

I'm bout to pull this shit up on Netflix to watch again later tonight.

T-1 was dope, the suspense of it is what made it great, and the storyline in itself. I was 12 or 13 when I first saw it, T-2 was on whole nother level, after that I was'nt feel;ing it

T3 was worth it for the last 30 minutes. It was pretty mediocre before that though but still better than Salvation.

I also liked The Sarah Connor Chronicles with Other Game of Thrones girl as Sarah Connor.

Watched T3 and Salvation last night as well. Not bad films, but definitely not on the level of T1 and T2. If Genisys is somewhere in the middle of all 4 I wouldn't complain.

I'm curious to see what happens when Cameron gets the rights back in 2019

Terminator died after T2. Would love a game that is a true sequel set in the future world or even a animated or live action Netflix series that goes deeper and does the franchise some much needed justice after the last three bullshit sequels.

There's only been two sequels mate....unless you're counting the The Sarah Connor Chronicles tv show as a sequel too

Did you forget about the new movie out now? it may not follow chronologically but I count it since it is a 5th film.

I've only seen the first 2.

Going by these comments it looks like i don't need to

The Terminator franchise ends with 2 for me. 3 wasn't bad per say but shit just got way too confusing and convoluted like in the new one John Connor sends Kyle Reese back to 1984 like in the original but there's already a Terminator there protecting her. Like seriousy what in the fuck is this shit.

Terminator 2 is my favorite out of the franchise there is way too many memorable scenes fucking love that movie.
