Rakim is in my top 5 so imma have to disagree....

Your favorite rappers, favorite rapper is Rakim

Nothing new.

Some prefer Rakim, some prefer Kane...just like some prefer Nas, some prefer Jay.

All of them are G.O.A.T. emcees to me and listened to all their shit. My avi speaks for itself.

The thing is Rakim was way more consistent.

Albums like Taste For Chocolate, Princess of Darkness and Veteranz Day.

Throw most hip hop heads off.

Rakim basically had 3 classics in a row, and 2 good solo albums.

Kane wasn't that consistent and he's my fav.

Menace is buggin, he has Big L in his top 5, nothing to see here.

They really are Jay and Nas before Jay and Nas...
Rakim was bigger than Kane though especially in the Hop Hop circles.

Nas is more like Kool G Rap, Jay-z is more like Jaz-o.

I think Rakim was the better lyricist and had better party tracks. Pump up the Volume was that shit.

Chuck d is better than both of them. Lets be honest for a second. Neither Kane or rakim dropped a "classic" album. Kane and Rakim are severely overrated. Chuck d is more lyrical, has more technical rhyme schemes and dropped more black knowledge than both of them combined. Chuck d is one of the first rappers to have 24 plus bar verses and 5 verses in a song. Chuck d been rapping like that since 1982. That public enemy #1 song on they debut album was written in 82 and put on wax in 83 way before the so called god mc allegedly brought forth lyrical raps. He stole his whole style from chuck d but he will never tell you that. Kane is overrated too. He dropped a few bangers. That's it. Niggas want to talk shit about hammer being a sellout but forget how Kane switched his style every year in the 90s. First he was a Casanova then he turned new jack then he turned into a gangster rapper. That's not goat moves to me.

I shook Kane's hand this summer after I saw his performance at RTB. His stage show was live as fuck. Even shorty I was with was feeling it and she's 23.

I disagree with Pusha T though. He is a GOAT though.

I prefer Ra myself but I have no complaints with Kane. Kane doesn't get enough credit as far as I am concerned. Dude fathered and grandfathered...and soon will be great-grandfathering mainstream niggas out here.

Just a matter of preference...I would not fault anyone for having Kane above Rakim. I have been having this debate since I was 13. Rakim is my fave and BDK is my homies fave we still argue about shit to this day.

look, i love Chuck D and he's legitimately underrated, but he's not better than Rakim. there's just no way to make that concept work.

Both Rakim and Big Daddy Kane is top 10 GOAT emcee of all times I got Ra at 3 and at

5/6 is Kane and Moe Dee they change places daily for me.

But don't front on Kane on stage and in a battle he would of crushed Rakim but on wax RA got it, Kane is a great and hold the crown as NYC King at one time

Taste of Chocolate is dope except for the ballads. Prince of Darkness is pretty bad tho altho the song with Q-Tip & Busta is dope. Never heard Veteranz. Rakim definitely was more consistent, but I you're reaching saying that Ra has 2 good solo albums tho.
