I wonder what prince felt about hip hop. I seen a couple clips where he was talking about actually MAKING music and talked shit about sampling and covers.

And Prince was singing on the hook on these walls

For real? I thought that was BilaL on the hook

It was. That was not Prince

Lot of these youngsters fakin lls Homie never heard of Bilal.

in the past decade plus. Prince has done anonymous features for artist he likes... he also did some anonymous features on janelle monae electric lady album.

Ok, but you thought the hook was Prince bc it kinda soundin like him lol

he was in the studio with Kendrick. on multiple occasion To Pimp A Butter Fly. i'm sure they just sat there, and watch paint dry.

Prince contributed to the album vocally, and sonically.

.

Prince and Kendrick have been in the studio multiple times during the time frame of the TPAB recording.

Kendrick even performed with Prince at one of his shows in 2014...

when TPAB came out, Prinnce was raving about it. "Dot is his fav blah blah". but when he was in studio with Dot to record for that same album he loves. Prince was just talking????

Music was playing in the studio. and the same Prince who was putting out albums every year. playing all the instruments, writing the lyrics , arranging the songs, and sound, engineering etc. every year. some niggas it take 3-4 years to do that. he did it every year.

you want me to believe, that same nigga call Kendrick in to HIS studio , and ain't record nothing???

u want me to believe that?

I think not recording was his way of silent protest. Some call it "throwing shade". To my knowledge Prince has never appeared on a rap album and even a fresh faced Kendrick couldnt get him to

Id agreed with u. if Prince wasn't raving about how great of an album, TPAB was..... he probably didn't want to appear on the album [credit] , yet it didnt mean, he did not contribute to the album...

:joy: :joy: Dude you are a stone idiot.

1) Kendricks own words: he was not on it.

2) The fact of the matter is u arent familiar with Bilal and you heard These Walls 'i could feel your reign when it cries, gold lives inside of you' and said

"oh shit, LOW KEY, that's Prince! !! But nobody else knows but me! Lemme spread the word! :joy:

Dude thats a HOOK. A secret colab is like Mike on Jay-z Girls, would be background singing, very covert. Bilal sang the gotdamn HOOK on These Walls and u thought it was "secretly" Prince. ..My good man:

@D0wn If it's coming from the person whose album it is then you probably should. Especially because Kendrick came out before Prince died and said the song Prince was supposed to be on was "Complexion" not "These Walls" but they ran out of time.

For almost a year, we’ve known that Prince logged a studio session with Kendrick Lamar while the latter crafted his 2015 masterpiece To Pimp a Butterfly. Now we know what song nearly got a dose of the legendary artist.

The official Grammys website dropped a Butterfly oral history yesterday (Feb. 8), which revealed Lamar planned for Prince to sing the vocal hook on "Complexion (A Zulu Love).”

“He said he wanted to talk about the beauty of black people,” fellow collaborator Rapsody said. “I told him to say no more. What tripped me out is Kendrick originally said that he didn't want to do a verse on there. He wanted me to do two verses and Prince to do the hook.”

Lamar chimed in, confirming that Prince heard the record, liked it and talked about hopping on it. But it just wasn’t meant to be.

“We got to a point where we were just talking in the studio and the more time that passed we realized we weren't recording anything,” Kendrick said. “We just ran out of time, it's as simple as that.”

Uh oh....

Prince was found dead one day before he was scheduled to meet with a California doctor in an attempt to kick an addiction to painkillers, an attorney with knowledge of the death investigation said Tuesday.

Dr. Howard Kornfeld, a national authority on opioid addiction treatment, was called by Prince representatives the night of April 20 because Prince “was dealing with a grave medical emergency,” said William Mauzy, a prominent Minneapolis attorney working with the Kornfeld family.

Kornfeld, who runs Recovery Without Walls in Mill Valley, Calif., could not clear his schedule to meet with Prince the next day, April 21, but he planned to fly out the following day.

So he sent his son, Andrew Kornfeld, who works with him, to Minnesota, with plans for him to go to Paisley Park to explain how the confidential treatment would work, Mauzy said.

“The plan was to quickly evaluate his health and devise a treatment plan,” Mauzy said, speaking on behalf of the Kornfelds. “… The doctor was planning on a lifesaving mission.”

The stories continue to pour out on the legendary Prince, and it looks like this recollection inserts another musical icon. While sitting on the couch for an interview with Ellen DeGeneres, producer/artist will.i.am shared that one time Michael Jackson attended a Prince show.

The Black Eyed Peas member said he convinced MJ to show up at one of the “Purple Rain” singer’s shows in Las Vegas despite their musical strain, and went into full detail as to how the situation occurred. It all started with a phone call from Jackson where will.i.am invited him to a show he was doing with The Purple One.

“I’d love to do that, but I don’t know if I could do that,” Jackson said. Will.i.am asked “Why?” to which he replied, “Prince and I always had been at odds with each other.” Will.i.am reassured Jackson that everything will be alright if he decided to attend the show, and placed a few calls to Prince’s team to set aside a VIP section for Jackson.

Once the event was underway, Prince hopped off the stage while playing the bass guitar and walked to Jackson’s area. Once he stopped right in front of Jackson, Prince never broke eye contact with the King of Pop while continuing to play the aforementioned instrument.

Will.i.am later said that Jackson wondered, “What’s up with Prince playing bass in my face?”

goat story but goat damn will.i.am is a fruit

Ronin Ro has a new book about Prince. It's in Barnes and Noble's. This is the same guy who wrote about Dr. Dre.

How did the book come out this fast and it's not even been that long since his death?

June 7 Declared ‘Prince Day’ To Mark Late Singer’s Birthday

gettyimages-73338786.jpg

ST. PAUL, Minn. (AP) — Minnesota Gov. Mark Dayton has declared Tuesday to be “Prince Day” in Minnesota to mark what would have been his 58th birthday.

Prince died April 21 from an accidental overdose of the narcotic painkiller fentanyl. The governor’s proclamation, issued Monday, is meant to celebrate his contributions to music and the entertainment industry, and his quiet philanthropy.

The proclamation urges Minnesotans to wear purple Tuesday in honor of Prince’s legacy.

Other commemorations planned for Tuesday include a “Let’s Go Crazy” dance party at the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in Cleveland, which inducted Prince in 2004. Spike Lee hosted a huge birthday tribute to Prince in New York on Saturday.

As a practicing Jehovah’s Witness, Prince himself might not have celebrated the date had he lived.
