Let me tell you why Ghost can get away with it. He didn't just start at this extremely indecipherable realm. He gradually took you there. He took you down the rabbit hole with him, to a place where every utterance became a film reel that would splash before your retina. It all sounds like nonsense reading it. But when you listen to one of his masterpiece albums, by the time you got to these couplets, even without drugs, the imagery was just bouncing off the insides of your skull.

"I roll like a bat out of hell evil acapel, fly spitting out of my grills before it hits the cloud with springtime colours juicy as a lemon..."

When the words leave ghosts mouth they become springtime colours, not profound logical thesis. Think of this line "both hands crusty, chilling with my man Rusty, blew off the burner kind of dusty.."

Did you just catch that visual? Ghost paints art gallery pictures, and we're not even talking about "the Hilton" the storytelling ghost..

Look at what is it...the forest? Got Damn!

Ghost can get away with the indecipherable shit because we realize that it is our shortcoming for not grasping the imagery, but that Ghost was faithful and said it in the best way possible. Ghost is like the federal reserve, his money is good anywhere.

I pray the good lord doesn't put a pox on your children for suggesting that there was anything flawed with G-Deni.

When he's being visual in songs like 'Impossible' 'Shakey Dog' ''Run' '260' 'Maxine' 'All That I got Is You' I love that. That is when he's being really visual, but when you quote lines like

That's not abstract or a smart metaphor. It's lazy. He even said once in an interview that he was high and didin't know what he meant when they asked him what did 1 of his lines mean. That pissed me off.

Controversial opinion: I listened to J.Cole once, milquetoast. I listened to Pimp a Butterfly twice. Challenging and a round of applause, but not a "banger". Cannibal Ox, blade of Ronin....Damn! The beats on that, from the intro, to the end...okay there are some lapses, but that's just because of the incredible heights. Soundscapes...the dynamics! I suppose I'm a sucker for outerspace type stuff, Wu, science fiction. These rappers talking about the mundane, or drug dealing gangsta are a little too simple. 5%, esoteric, science fiction, action thriller, that's the recipe.
