The funny thing is he takes a scripture from Mark, and when you continue to read the same chapter, Jesus already told the pharisees that they were in error in understanding. This is a perfect example of people who take one verse from the Bible and try to create a new doctrine from it.

I don't anymore, but there was a time (when I first became Agnostic) that I did feel uneasy inside of my old church. To me I think it was like having a conflicted relationship with something I had grew up with.

Do you remember in Forest Gump when Forest took Jenny back to her old house (the house where she was the victim of an abusive father), and she flipped out and started throwing rocks at the house? Well its kind of like that, but don't get me wrong I'm not saying my situation was as extreme as hers was.

Now I doesnt really bother me,for example, I was recently the best man at my friends wedding and the ceremony was at the church I grew up attending and I was not bothered at all. But even if I was, I dont think I would have told him.

Dummy let me explain one thing. The bible is not to be used as a debate tool. The word is tried and proven. You used to spend hours tryna debate scientific formulas with biblical scripture. You tried using logic to understand God's ways. That's where you erred. But I'm sure after you struggle a little bit, have a few doors close, and you re-humble yourself, you'll make your way back towards the truth.

No, I don't believe any of that. For the life of me I don't understand how many 'intelligent' people buy into the who Bible thing. It doesn't take much investigation to show that large chunks of the Bible are impossible. And considering that the burden is on the Bible to 'prove' that it is true (vs. the burden on me to prove that it isn't), it fails to make a case that goes beyond mere plausibility. Yet, we have all these would be scholars going to war for it. If the Bible were true, then there is no room to criticize many other religions because they are also demonstrably false. Why believe one objectively false religion over another...or deny one over another?

The Bible is true because God said it was true. God said that in the Bible.

By definition an atheist can not believe in the devil. It is a denial of all spiritual beings. No gods, or devils, or angels, or demons. No witchcraft or ghosts or magic.

There is existence and the natural laws that govern it.

That's not neccesarily true. An atheist denies the existence of a deity or deities. That does not preclude the belief in the existence of spirits or what not. A materialist (the most common form of atheist) most likely would deny anything that lacks proof in the physical sense. However, many other atheist deny the existence of a God or Gods but demur on the case of spirits or what not. Most Buddhist are atheist but do not deny the existence of things beyond the physical realm.

I just asked a dude on twitter the samer question and that was his response. Ta keep it real, I believe in God, but that is mostly due to the fact of how I was raised. I was brought up belieing he exists...so he does. But how can I say a guy believing he will get 72 virgins when he blows hisself up is stupid, if he has the same reasons for believing in what he believes in as I have about my views.

The one thing that made me really start thinking about skeptical shit was the whole Noah's Ark story. That shit is so unbelievable its not even funny
