Bobby Ro-Mack gettin' a chance to shine as a #1 corner today. Big shoes to fill, but I trust him more than Alford at this point.

I know the Aint's will pass at least 45 times today so they'll get tested. We'll see...

We need to see what that cat we just signed can do at OT (Trueblood).

He can't be much worse than Larry Holmes over there.

Oh well. We put the ball on the ground (Julio) and didn't protect the QB. Hard to win like that.

We've lost 3 out of the last 4 week 1's anyway.

Reminds me of the week 1 game in 2011 against Chicago. Offensive line couldn't block shit.

We beat ourselves tho. Julio's fumble and Jax's drop is what stands out.

I'm impressed with the young DB's including Bobby Ro-mack. They didn't get tried nearly as much as I thought they would be, and when they were, they made plays.

Another positive is how Steve Jax looked. Got over 100 total yards, 7 yards per carry. 5 catches.

That drop is a heartbreaker tho.

Out of the 3 week-1 losses we've had in the last 4 years, this one stings the least. The only thing that makes it bad is the rivalry.

After we lost 30-12 to chicago and couldn't block shit -- I swore we would win maybe 7 or 8 games that year.

And then in 2010 we lawst to Pittsburgh with their backup QB starting. (smh)

I can't even really get mad tho. As much as I hate the aints it's week 1.

Adjustments will be made and we'll be alright

this is pretty much how i feel....pass protection is a issue tho

Definitely you could tell that and Roddy's ankle took away a chunk of the playbook

It's good that Ryan is getting more confidence in HD. Even when Roddy is healthy I wanna see us giving HD at least 2 or 3 deep looks just to keep defenses from crowding julio and roddy.

And if Jax keep playing like this (excluding the 1 drop) we'll be just fine.

Jerry sorry ass got the credit for the sack but Osi is the one that got to the QB, Jerry just came in and cleaned him up and got the credit.

Everybody at my crib was mad yesterday. Its the first game but it stings to lose to those damn Aints mane.... They have a lot of work to do.

Here are my thoughts after watching that game yesterday:

1) To much money on the offensive side of the ball for us to only score 17 points. Only scored 1 TD in the second half. I know Roddy hurt and the line played bad but that shit makes no sense.

2)Jackson didnt get the ball enough. Especially on that last drive, I thought they would have gave him the ball at least once on a draw or something when they got inside the 10.

3) Babs playing like its a contract year. He was in the back field all day.

4) Kinda impressed by that run defense

5) I like those rookie corners

6)Linebackers still suspect outside of Spoon.

7) I was surprised to see Jackson come out so much on 3rd down. Hes one of the best receiving RB's in the game.

8)Didnt get to see those young ends yesterday. Thought Id see them get some snaps.

9) 0-Line..... smfh

10)Trueblood need to get some reps in this week and be ready to play sunday

11) Would have been nice to bring Seymour in on that D-Line. Outside of Babs and Osi yesterday no one else really stood out to me. (See number 8)

When I look at all the ways we beat ourselves, I ain't even tripping. The only thing that bothers me is that O-line.

Our O-line started out trash in 2011 too tho.

Aside from the obvious (o line) couple of things stick out

I think Bartu should play more in obvious pass situation's. Dents not terrible but it's little mistakes (not getting deep enough drops on 3rd and longs)

I like what Kroy brings as far as versatility but he's still not getting consistent pressure on the other side.

we gotta stop getting cute near the goal line.

I like that Tru and Alford let us play man coverage more.

Losing to the Saints is what hurts the most. Yesterday I tried not to trip and over react because we made mistakes that can be fixed. I will be alarmed if we look like we did yesterday in week 10.

I gotta watch that game again with some sober eyes, but I dont remember seeing some of the younger guys. I wanna see Bartu, Massaqoui, Goodman, hell even Matthews get some time. But its just the first game, I know Nolan gonna get them boys right.

O-line play has to be better. Roddy dealing with that ankle sprain hurt too, I didnt even think he would play. I read somewhere before that game started that he was gonna be inactive.

Nah you not trippin.... They got away with a lot of grabbin and groppin on Gonzo. He usually gets those calls. N.O got away with a lot of holding two, especially on Babs even tho he got 2 holding calls. There was a lot more. Smelled like home cookin.

DB's looking good. I know y'all don't like the dline much but from what I see they were getting good pressure.

Definitely.

I wasn't mad at anything but the o-line in the 2nd half and the mental mistakes (dropped passes and Julio's fumble.)

Let's not forget we were just a Jax drop from winning this game despite everything that happened before that.

I took a look at Asante's contract next year. Its only one year left on his deal. We owe him $8.5 million next season & only $750k in dead money.

I think he's going to be cut after this season.

No doubt. He knows it too.

Only alternative is that he restructures and takes ALOT less. Too fragile and one dimensional for that kind of paper.

Goat contract structure by Dimitroff tho. lol

I think most of these players know that the chances of them seeing the highest payout on their contracts is always slim to none. Unless they are a guaranteed first-ballot future HOF'er still in their prime, they're either going to get cut or restructured.

When Gerald Riggs got the phone call last Friday informing him he was going to be the Falcons franchise’s latest addition to the Ring of Honor, he thought someone was playing a joke on him. After all, how many people get phone calls from Arthur Blank, the team’s owner and chairman?

After a quick few seconds, he realized it was no joke and Blank’s voice really was on the other end, letting Riggs know he would join eight other former Falcons honored in the Georgia Dome. The personal touch by Blank made the moment even more special for Riggs.

“My initial thoughts were that it was truly an honor to be given a call by Mr. Blank to announce it,” Riggs said. “Sometimes you don’t realize how things like this come about or if it comes from somebody else in the organization, but to have the owner contact me was truly an honor.”

Riggs was chosen by a local media committee for the honor this year.

The induction ceremony will take place at halftime of the Monday Night Football game against the New York Jets on Oct. 7 at the Georgia Dome.

I fuxx with HD from a personality standpoint, but he needs to step the fuck up. Imagine Victor Cruz or Amendola or Wes Welker in his spot.

It's not like he doesn't have the talent (he probably has more natural talent than all of those names I just named, and he was drafted higher than them too.)

This is basically a contract year for him too. No way he gets that million dollar raise he got scheduled with another regular-HD year.

He's a beast on those skinny posts and slants. Especially if the coverman is playing a bit off.

We keep trying to throw it "up" to him in tight coverage like he got the size and ability (or effort) to go up and fight for it and that ain't him at all.
