Looks like it's Kevin Cone vs. Darious Johnson for that last WR spot.

Aii, down to 75. Got 22 left to cut to get to the final 53-man roster.

Just heard Smitty said that Brian Banks will get alot more snaps Saturday when the starters go out in the 2nd half. Possibly the whole 4th quarter. Good shit.

Glad they're giving him a chance to make that first cut.

Decisions on the first cuts will be made Sunday.

Every team has to get down from 90 to 75 next week. And then from 75 to 53 week after next.

I'm doing a "round of applause" post on here for every cut he survives.



I'm less confident that he can make the team than I used to be, but if he at least makes this first cut I'll be happy. I heard he already has a 6-figure book deal in the works and paid speaking engagements so he'll be aight either way.

Neither Robert James, Banks, Bartu, Schiller, and even Nicholas have done anything to "guarantee" a spot.

Good to know that we can roll that over. I really don't see us signing anybody now, being this close to the year.

We'll have more than enough for Julio's contract. Keep in mind, we won't have to pay him the whole thing in one year.

If we roll over the 7 mill we have now, that'll take care of his cap hit next year with a new contract. Then we have close to 10-15 more available.

We have about 112 committed to next year's cap that will be over 120 mil.

We'll have enough space to give Julio a new deal, and sign 1 or 2 quality free agents.

I really don't think our O-line situation is that bad. A tackle in the 2nd or 3rd or a decent veteran free agent would do the trick.

We have 3 above average lineman, which is more than most can say. (Baker, Konz, Blaylock)

I can see two of them going to the pro bowl this year if our run game does well.

I'm all for spending top dollar on the D-line.

A strong D-line can do more for a secondary than a strong Secondary can do for a D-line.

Blaylock will be aight. Last year our pass blocking was good and our run blocking was garbage truck juice.

We're switching things up a bit with our blocking approach so now it's shifting.

I would rather have good run-blocking and suspect pass blocking than the other way around.

Matt Ryan can step up in the pocket -- a RB can't. And passing might be the "in thing" in football right now, but we were at home watching the super bowl last year because we couldn't run the ball for shit or get short yardage plays.

Clabo was aight, but he was a undrafted journeyman himself, so you don't need to break the bank to make your o-line serviceable.
