Lamar's main problem is run blocking. Smitty tested him by running a couple Jax plays off tackle on his side.

He got pushed back twice.

To Trufant's credit, he really didn't get tested that much, but that Gresham truck was not a good look.

Don't feel bad, Tru, that's just how Gresh is sometimes...

I liked what I saw out of Wingo on his touches besides the dropped pass.

I wanna see Banks get more burn next week, especially with the 2nd team. I got the feeling that now that he got the "1st game jitters" out, he'll beast. He looked solid after his first couple plays. Almost got a sack, TFL, and was always in the right gap (the most important thing for a ILB.)

And when Banks sheds the block on a run play, he looks like a missile to the backfield.

I really don't wanna see Matty again on the field until Gonzo comes back.

Osi look hungry.

Jax looked like he was trying not to get hurt. He twisted something on his first run and look like he was half-stepping after that.

Mass might be a problem with the first team this year. It's obvious he's learning alot from Osi already, and with them both being Troy boys, I think Osi has taken him under his wing moreso than the other youngins.

Not feeling the Kroy OLB ish. But Nolan's mind-fuck defense is still looking good.

Like someone in the Falcons' board said, "i'm not surprised that he used to play for the Jags."

I think we have a good track record of taking shit from Jacksonville...

We stay rescuing quality pieces from that orphanage called the Jaguars.

They're saying my boy from the Razorbacks, Ronnie Wingo, got a decent shot at making the team.

WPS!

He should. He's like a young Snellz in the making if he improves his hands (had a easy drop.) Had a solid game thursday too. (best out of all the backs) even though it was against 2nd and 3rd teamers.

That Josh Vaughn nikka gotta go. The cat from Georgia State got a nice skill set tho.

New depth chart out. Not too many changes.
http://www.atlantafalcons.com/team/depth-chart.html

Surprised we didn't make any cuts over the weekend. We have about 84 players on the roster, have to get it down to 53 in a few weeks.

I did some math to see who's on the bubble or not. Banks is not as much of a long shot as people think.

We can keep 5 or 6 LB's. (It would be smart to keep 6.) We kept 5 last year.

How this shit 41 pages deep and not stikied?? Mod niggas hating on them Dirty Birds???

This thread is part of the reason nikkas hate on the Falcons so much on here... jealousy. lol.

The other part is me keeping one foot on the ground and the other foot up a fuck nikkas ass.

I wish my nikka Radaman (RIP) was still a mod. He would sticky this shit.

Yo, I havent been up on everything as much as I normally am up to this point in the pre-season. Been busy as hell with work and fixing up my man cave every day I get off work. But ive been seeing in a few places that people believe that Steven Nich may be on the chopping block. Ive read everything from the Falcons like some of their younger/cheaper linebackers to Bierman may beat him out for his spot.

I know yall boyz been on it with the info so im trying to see what yall opinion is..... I need to get my life right before the season starts. I been missing everything.

I wouldn't be mad if he left. I don't completely blame what happened in the playoffs on him but if they have a cheaper alternative then it is what it is

Nah, you good. That shit just makes everything go by faster.

But I wouldn't be surprised if Nich got cut. I've seen us do more surprising things. Nich's skill set matches up more with what Vangorder was doing defensively than Nolan.

That's why I'm kinda glad we didn't resign Lofton. Lofton would probably be that dude on the chopping block right now 'cause I know he wouldn't fit in this scheme. And he looked like a chicken with his head cut off with the Aint's all-time WOAT defense last year.

That Joplo Bartu dude is the one snatching food off Nich's plate.

I wouldn't be surprised if Nich went to a division rival if we cut'em. He'll be the next Chris Draft -- That nikka was so salty about us cutting him that he signed with Carolina for less money than he could've got somewhere else, and played like shit against everybody BUT us.

Nikka was turnt up as fuck when the panthers played us. lol. They ended up cutting him too.

I ain't feeling Warilow or Schiller, personally. Schiller is a "popular" player in the locker room, but I've never seen him make a play.

And Warrilow is no better than Banks, IMO. He's a liability on pass plays, and over-pursues on running plays. And is kinda small too.

As a nikka that watched Keith Brooking for a decade -- tackles are overrated. It's "where" you make those tackles, not how many.

Keith Brooking was the master of chase-the-chicken tackles. He'll get blown up in his gap and the running back would get a 5-6 yard gain, but Brooking would chase him down and jump in the pile to get a "tackle" or a assisted tackle.

Warrilow had one good TFL that I saw and so did Banks. The rest he looked out of position and was just piling on like Brooking.

None of our linebackers that played in the 2nd and 3rd quarters looked good at all. That's how that nobody ass backup QB was out there lookin' like Randall Cunningham in his prime.

Alford and Massaqoui were the only defensive players that looked good in those quarters. Everything in between was ass cheeks.

He is playing under a reasonable contract, but Bleacher Report says cutting Nich would save us some good cap space. About 2.5 mil this year, 2 mil next year and about 5 mil in 2015(I dont see him being here beyond next year). But Ive seen in a few places that people believe he is fighting for a roster spot.

I dont see them cutting him either. I think hes gonna be a part time starter and probably end up splitting a lot of time with Bierman and one of the younger LB's. I can see him getting cut next year tho. He will be 31 and the Falcons can use that money on someone like Julio/Spoon and just play one of the younger LB's. Time for some of these young dudes to step up anyway.
